**Job Summary**

AECOM's Cincinnati, Ohio office is currently seeking an Environmental Technician I to support environmental field services work including air quality monitoring and sampling, as well as operations and maintenance equipment used at the project site located in Cincinnati, Ohio. The selected candidate(s) should be self-motivated, able to follow through with assignments with minimal direction, and possess a high degree of health and safety awareness.

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

+ Coordination with task and project managers, working with on-site field staff, supporting sampling, data collection, and field documentation

+ Specific duties include operation of air monitoring and sampling equipment, developing staging and mobilization/scheduling plans, logistical plans and equipment inventories for field sampling events, preparing field journal entries, maintaining photo-documentation in accordance with standard practices and expectations, developing and maintaining instrumentation QA/QC data sheets as well as field logs in support of air monitoring system operations and maintenance activities

+ Specific field work includes ambient air monitoring and sampling, compilation of field data, and various operations and maintenance activities associated with air quality monitoring systems

+ Candidate must have ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and may be teamed with another Technician

+ Interaction with client may be necessary

+ While these tasks will make up the majority of the work assignments, additional activities may include various types of project administrative and support tasks. Will report to multiple, assigned task managers and work under the purview of Environmental Project and Program Managers

+ Capable of understanding technical work requirements with minimal training, explanation and oversight

**Minimum Requirements**

+ High School Diploma or equivalent.

+ Minimum of one (1) year of work experience performing entry-level industrial or plant work; or collecting or using environmental data; or performing operations and maintenance activities associated with air monitoring systems

+ Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check; many projects/ clients are security sensitive

+ Must pass pre-employment drug screen

+ Must participate in and successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment fitness for duty questionnaire

+ Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record

+ Candidate must be able to meet the medical clearance requirements of an OSHA (HAZWOPER) medical surveillance physical examination

+ Flexibility to work 6 days / week (totally 60 hours/week) with every 3 weeks a scheduled 3 day weekend

+ Excellent work ethic and team-player attitude

+ Strong attention to detail, with proven ability to follow specific instructions

+ An ability to effectively express his or herself orally and in writing to other project staff

+ Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office applications

+ Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, dryness, noise, and dust; position requires frequent standing/walking and keyboard/mouse operations; often lifting of less than 25 pounds and performing repetitive or fine hand movements; occasional lifting of 25-50 pounds, and; rare repetitive bending & stooping, climbing stairs, using portable ladders (weight must be 300 lbs or less), environment of heavy, moving, dangerous equipment, and work alone in isolated/remote areas. Position will include wearing associated personal protective equipment

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Trade certification, Associates Degree(s) and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science is a plus

+ First Aid/CPR training completion is preferred

+ 40 Hour HAZWOPER course completion is preferred; selected candidate will be required to complete 40 hour HAZWOPER training or 8-hour annual refresher class

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD, and/or ArcGIS software suites is a plus

+ Experience working on construction sites, operating environmental monitoring/sampling equipment and maintaining and repairing electronics, as well as familiarity with analytical laboratory chain of custody procedures, are a plus
