**Job Summary**

AECOM has an opening for an Area Finance Manager (“AFM”) for the Southeast Region’s Latin America Area in the Coral Gables, FL office. The AFM is an active member of the senior finance leadership team and partners with the Latin America area and Southeast Region operational leaders to deliver results, including profit, cash, and DSO targets. The AFM drives monthly and quarterly reporting cycles, performs complex financial and operational analysis to support short term and long range strategic plans and operating budgets, evaluates data, prepares forecasts, analyzes trends and presents results pertaining to operations, general business conditions and other areas.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Lead a team of professional financial managers and liaise with other team members to oversee the areas and business lines financial performance

+ Manage P&L and Balance Sheets for the legal entity and area structures and lead the monthly forecasting, annual budgeting and strategic planning processes

+ Prepare financial information in conformance with US GAAP and SOX

+ Produce financial results based on all projects in the area, working to strict deadlines, closely monitoring operational/performance milestones and metrics, while insuring the accuracy of financial reporting and the integrity of the financial reporting environment

+ Develop and implement strategies to achieve operating objectives

+ Identify risks and opportunities in the area and develop plans to mitigate and manage them

+ Serve as a business advisor to drive business performance and process improvement with a view of improving margins, cash flow, and enhancing statutory and fiduciary compliance

+ Implement internal controls and participate in SOX compliance

+ Ensure that company policy and risk management procedures are understood and implemented

+ Provide oversight on major proposals from a pricing, cash flow, and risk perspective

+ Coordinate with other functional departments (Legal, Tax, etc.) on issues related to business activities

+ Analyze effects of bids and other transactions and provide clear, effective feedback to management

+ Key team member in the decision making process for pursuing new business

+ Supports the capture of new business through engagement and review of major pursuits, review of contract terms and potential business structures (JVs, teaming)

+ Ensure profitability through the calculation of pursuit ROI and that BD spending is appropriate by pursuit and for the area

+ Champion the shared services platform which serves as a knowledge base and as a support function for back-office transactions; provide input to their planning processes and help drive communications across the enterprise for Accounting, Procurement, Real Estate, IT, HR

+ Manage working capital and related reporting; work with operations teams and the working capital manager and coordinate with regional and shared service working capital staff to meet DSO and cash flow objectives; work with operations on driving favorable commercial terms on contracts; train staff in the business of effective working capital practices and instill a cash culture

+ Engage in planning of capital expenditures and seek cost effective solutions

+ Implement a return on investment mentality in the business

+ Coordinate with the project accounting and project controls team to ensure timely and accurate preparation and upload of estimates at completion (EAC)

+ Validate the accuracy of revenue recognition at month end, coordinating responses to client audit requests, review significant project results and variances with the project accounting team, project managers and operational leadership teams

+ Serve as the finance contact on all potential Area investments and/or acquisitions

+ Create a motivational work environment for team members and foster responsibility and accountability, and acknowledge strong performance and achievements

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related

+ 10+ years relevant work experience, preferably in a professional services environment

+ Strong understanding of US GAAP revenue recognition and joint venture accounting and basic knowledge of GAAP required

+ Bi-lingual in Spanish and English

+ Strong understanding of foreign tax, employment law, contractual and business variances between US and Latin American Countries

+ Someone who likes to get out from behind the desk and get involved in the business

+ Strong quantitative and analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data, including financial statements, key financial ratios, valuation models and techniques

+ High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience involving extensive work with complex spreadsheets

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Must be detail oriented, thorough, well organized and effectively manage time

+ Team player with excellent listening skills and diplomacy; willingness to work with multiple different colleagues on a variety of initiatives

+ Ability to work in a high-paced environment with a sense of urgency

+ Strong organizational skills – ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

+ Consultative, service-oriented mindset and collaborative problem-solving skills

+ Proactive and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently and manage change effectively

+ Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or relate

+ CPA is a plus

+ Experience specifically within the engineering consulting or construction industries

+ Project accounting experience and experience on an Oracle based platform (LURS E-1 ERP also in use)
