**Job Summary**

Our Bid Studio currently has a vacancy for an Assistant Bid manager with experience in co-coordinating bids, responding to prequalification questionnaires and preparing proposals for clients throughout Africa.

The Assistant Bid Manager supports the day-to-day bid preparation, developing requirements from issued bid documents, devising proposal plans, agrees deliverables and assists in driving progress. They are responsible for working with Bid Managers / Executive Sponsors / Bid Directors / Technical Leads and other members of the End Market teams in a collaborative fashion, recognizing the different roles and responsibilities of each.

The successful candidate will have worked in a challenging and dynamic environment, working to tight timescales and will have experience in coordinating tenders from Prequalification to Proposal stages. They will have experience in working as part of a team supporting the production of tender responses, collating market intelligence and in the preparation of supporting information such as project data sheets and CVs. The role would suit a self-motivated individual looking to advance their career in a dynamic team.

They support in all steps from capture management and win strategy development, through the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) / Expression of Interest (EOI) and proposal submission to interview / presentation preparation and debrief sessions. The Assistant Bid Manager works closely with the Bid Manager to provide consistency through the process.

**The appropriate level of competency is required in order that the Job / Project Accountabilities listed below can be carried out to the necessary standard:**

+ Reviews RFPs and other related documents and supports in gathering proposal information including a list of questions, information and material required to create the response.

+ Re-works existing content where relevant and implements the response structure.

+ Prepares storyboards and content plans and chases content contributors as required.

+ Writes sections of the proposal and reads, reviews, edits and finalises proposal responses from a variety of writers to ensure persuasive writing, consistency, professional standards and completion to RFP/ITT requirements.

+ Coordinates the preparation of identified expression of interests, prequalification questionnaires and proposals.

+ Provides support for a library of pre-written proposal content, where required.

+ Assists in the production of marketing material and collateral for specific pursuits.

+ Assists in the preparation of presentations for specific pursuits.

+ Identifies and shares lessons learned as inputs to the continuous improvement of the WW process and tools.

+ Provides editing and maintenance support for a repository of pre-written proposal content, where required.

+ Supports colleagues in activities to develop their WW excellence.

**Minimum Requirements**

+ You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills along with experience of co-coordinating multi-disciplinary proposals of a high strategic value for the firm.

+ You will have an excellent eye for detail, not accept second best and will take personal pride and responsibility for all aspects within their control.

+ Outstanding proposal writing skills and solid basic graphic design skills, and the ability to turn 'raw information' into well-articulated proposal content.

+ You will have a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and Adobe InDesign.

+ You will have a flexible approach to supporting bids and business development activities across Africa.

+ Excellent ability to work collaboratively and build credibility with senior colleagues and provide critique of others' work while maintaining positive relationships

+ The ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues alike and to chase others for contributions as needed.

+ You will be able to think in a methodical way to assist in the administration and production of bids

+ You will have the ability to work under pressure and deliver work to deadlines.

+ Will thrive on the adherence to processes / systems and highly motivated to support bid teams.

**IT Skills required in:**

+ Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

+ Adobe InDesign

+ Adobe Illustrator (preferred)

+ MS Project (preferred)

+ Sales force (preferred)

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ 5 - 7 years of experience in the coordination of proposal preparation, preferably in the E/A/C (engineering, architecture, consulting) environment.

+ Foundation-level APMP certification.

+ A working knowledge of Adobe InDesign.
