**Job Summary**

AECOM has an opportunity for a team-oriented attorney with commercial transactional experience to join us as an Assistant General Counsel. As a key member of a collegial, fast-paced corporate legal team, will focus on corporate and commercial transactions including general commercial, real estate, project finance and general corporate matters including assistant corporate secretary as necessary. Reporting to the Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, can be located in either our Century City or Downtown Los Angeles offices with primary responsibilities including:

+ Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements.

+ Providing timely advice and counsel to senior management by advising on laws, regulations and company policies.

+ Working with stakeholders including other corporate functions (such as finance, HR, real estate, IT), law department colleagues and business operations staff for matters both within and outside of direct subject matter expertise or responsibility.

+ Managing efficient use of outside counsel.

+ Establishing and maintaining best practices, guidance materials, controls, standard contract forms and other templates.

**Minimum Requirements**

The successful candidate must possess a strong work ethic, flexibility and willingness to work on a broad range of legal matters and the leadership and collaboration qualities that will enable them to potentially grow into a broader management role within a 100+ attorney global legal department. Required background and attributes include:

+ Five to ten years corporate and commercial transactional law experience in firm and/or in-house environments.

+ Proven ability to lead transactions and projects.

+ Strong analytical, interpersonal, drafting, negotiation and written/verbal communication skills.

+ Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and resolve problems.

+ Excellent judgment with the ability to balance competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.

+ Practical team player with the ability to professionally collaborate in a results-oriented environment.

+ Effectively work in a highly confidential environment with the highest standards of ethics and professional integrity.

+ Excellent organizational skills with high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

+ Graduate of a top-tier, accredited law school.

+ Member in good standing with the California Bar.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Previous experience with global real estate, construction, engineering or related matters.
