**Job Summary**

AECOM is recruiting for an Assistant Lead Environmental Inspector for project work in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and possibly throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, in support of natural gas pipeline construction projects.

The Assistant Lead Environmental Inspector (ALEI) will assist the Lead Environmental Inspector (LEI) with organization and compiling inspection information for their coverage area. Each spread will be assigned one ALEI responsible for coverage of compliance monitoring. This is a part-time variable position, meaning work days and times will be determined on an as-needed basis.

At a minimum, the ALEI shall be responsible for:

+ Provide a safety statement and environmental lessons learned during the daily Joint Safety Assessment (JSA) meeting pertaining to the activities proposed for the day

+ Inspect and monitor daily construction activities within assigned spread for compliance with environmental requirements and permit conditions specific to that spread

+ Be able to stand in for the LEI in his/her absence to conduct day to day activities of the spread

+ Resolve, clarify, and assure necessary precautions are taken or permit conditions implemented by the construction inspection team and construction contractor

+ Communicate with FERC compliance monitor, local county conservation district representatives, Williams Environmental Project Manager, construction spread chief, Lead UEI and UEIs on a daily basis

+ All reporting to LEI and QCM of highly sensitive daily activities

+ Assign EI daily coordination with environmental inspectors to address upcoming construction activities and potential areas of concern

+ Assign environmental inspection activities, organize and conducted project-specific environmental training programs for the contractor and company management staff prior to construction on each spread

+ Manage, review, and track punch list and compliance spreadsheet

+ Maintaining or overseeing the spreads master environmental tracking table is updated and distributed weekly to the project management team

+ Supervise all Environmental Inspectors and field support staff based on contractor’s scatter sheet and notifications

+ Manage the oversight and implementation all agency-mandated environmental permits and mitigation measures

+ Coordinate with County Conservation Districts as necessary for requested variances

+ Alert LEI and CM of agency notifications

+ Establish and maintained effective communication with the construction management team

**Minimum Requirements**

+ High School Diploma or equivalent

+ 5+ years of experience

+ Computer software and application use ability for information tracking and reporting

+ Pipeline or similar utility inspection and construction experience

+ Environmental compliance experience

+ Must have knowledge and experience implementing the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s Plans and Procedures as well state specific best management practices for protection of regulated resources

+ Ability to travel consistently with overnight stays at project locations. Position requires 100% travel within project geography

+ Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check; many projects/clients are security sensitive

+ Must pass pre-employment drug screen

+ Must be able to successfully complete initial and periodic screening requirements which may include drug, breathalyzer, urine and hair test

+ Must participate in and successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment fitness for duty questionnaire

+ Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record

+ Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, moist, dry, and dust; position requires frequent keyboard/mouse operations; Often standing/walking; Occasionally operating vehicles, working in an environment of heavy, moving, dangerous equipment, and lifting of less than 25 pounds; Rarely performing repetitive bending & stooping, working at heights, climbing stairs, using portable ladders, wearing fall protection, working in confined spaces, performing repetitive fine hand movements, and lifting of 25-50 pounds; Position will include wearing associated personal protective equipment

+ Must be able to work with several personality types on complex construction projects and have interpersonal skills necessary to manage staff, multi task, and inform contractors of non-compliance requiring action and resolution

+ Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
