**Job Summary**

Job Summary

In the role of Associate Principal for Interior Design, you will be required to be a highly experienced technical leader with full project management authority and accountability for larger, more visible and more complex projects. You will demonstrate exceptional competence and achievement over a sustained period in the Architecture field as well as possess technical excellence is critical to the success of the delivery of projects.You will additionally source and follow up on business development leads and show consistent positive contributions to the region. You will supervise the work of others and conduct performance evaluations.

Additionally, you will possess superior leadership and initiative. You will demonstrate leadership to positively impact office morale, and mentor staff, as well as effectively promote the core values of the firm through consistently providing an example to staff.

Job Duties

+ Prepares and submits project status reports to the regional manager, business line and client

+ Confers with project team members to provide or obtain technical advice (e.g. on documentation levels, design details, and engineering details) and to resolve problems

+ Follows established business principles (e.g. business filters, etc.) to ensure projects meet all projected requirements

+ Assures projects are developed in accordance with the work plan and all applicable business procedures

+ Raises the operations level of awareness of potential risks which could affect the successful execution of the project

+ Coaches project team members for individual development purposes and to improve overall project team effectiveness

+ Provides feedback to discipline leaders on the performance of their employees who are operations or other project team members

+ Ensures that project teams are properly debriefed and the team’s contributions are recognized at the completion of projects

+ Delegates the responsibility for any of the above as deemed appropriate

+ Identify, develop and lead the clarification and communication of key strategies for business development efforts within the Market to include selecting, convening and leading personnel required to create strategies and key initiatives to generate and assess opportunities within the Market. Such strategies will be clearly communicated to the B&P leadership. The Leader will be responsible for producing support materials necessary for such communication

+ Maintain current awareness of key clients and dynamics of the Market as well as awareness of key relationships and relationship managers for clients within Architecture.

+ Advocate for support from the other B&P regions for efforts within the sector consistent with stated and acknowledged strategies in order to facilitate resource allocation and management attention; this includes assistance with the formation of “best-team” for the pursuit, leadership for go/no-go decisions, and appointment of capture manager/proposal leadership in order to present consolidated and consistent delivery of offerings

+ Serve as the centralized point for collaboration and integration of activities between Architecture resources and other AECOM resources relative to efforts within the Sector

+ Serve as an externally oriented “face” for client relationship building, third-party collaboration, and market sector outreach and visibility

+ Minimum specified experience for the position includes 15 years of increasingly responsible assignments in the architectural and project managment field, five years of which include direct engagement in business development, strategic planning or business unit management.

**Preferred Qualifications**


+ A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, with a Master’s degree preferred.

+ A graduate degree in Business Administration is a plus.

+ Maintains professional registration/ license with an internationally recognised Architecture organisation (RIBA, AIA, RAIA,etc)

+ Experience in the commercial, hospitality residential sector

+ Previous experience of leading an interior design studio
