**Job Summary**

AECOM’s growing Aviation sector is working on all key airports in the UK and Ireland and has Tier 1 frameworks with Manchester Airport Group, Luton Airport and Gatwick Airport. To grow this sector and our aviation team, we are looking for Bid Manager who has business development capabilities.

Our Aviation Bid Manager will be based in our centrally-located Birmingham office. This person will lead aviation bids, developing requirements from client intelligence and issued bid documents. He/she will devise a bid programme, agree key deliverables, manage inputs from Subject Matter Experts and work with the team to drive progress through to successful submission. They will work collaboratively with technical and operational colleagues, AECOM’s Bid Studio writers, graphic designers and the Aviation and Bid Studio leadership teams. The role will cover the full procurement lifecycle including pre-positioning, EOIs, PQQs and proposals. The successful candidate will be proactive, collaborative, efficient and eager to develop professionally.

The successful candidate will have worked in a challenging and dynamic environment, working to tight timescales and will have experience in coordinating major tenders from prequalification to proposal stages. They will have experience in working as part of a team supporting the production of tender responses, collating market intelligence and in the preparation and reviewing of supporting information such as project data sheets and CVs. The role would suit a self-motivated individual looking to advance their career in a dynamic team.

The Bid Manager will lead the bid team in all steps from capture management and win strategy development, through the prequalification questionnaire (PQQ) / Expression of Interest (EOI), internal governance including risk, legal and commercial strategies and proposal submission to interview / presentation preparation and debrief sessions.

Job Duties

+ Review RFPs and other related documents and support in gathering proposal information including a list of questions, information and material required to create the response

+ Review existing content where relevant and implement the response structure

+ Prepare storyboards and content plans and chase content contributors as required

+ Write sections of the proposal and read, review, edit and finalise proposal responses from a variety of writers to ensure persuasive writing, consistency, professional standards and completion to RFP/ITT requirements

+ Coordinate the preparation of identified expression of interests, prequalification questionnaires and proposals

+ Provide on the aviation hub a library of pre-written proposal content and other bid collateral, where required

+ Preparation presentations for specific pursuits

+ Training of teams in interviewing and presentation skills

+ Identify and share lessons learned as inputs to the continuous improvement of the bidding process and tools

+ Provide editing and maintenance support for a repository of pre-written proposal content, where required

+ Supports colleagues in activities to develop their bidding excellence

+ Be aware of the status of all aviation bids (including those lead by the aviation team) through regular meetings and minutes

+ Support UK&I Head of Aviation in other business development tasks.

+ Liaise with wider EMIA and Global Aviation Business Lines on work winning and business development items.

**Minimum Requirements**

To be successful in this role we would like to hear from candidates with the following;

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with experience of coordinating multi-disciplinary proposals of a high strategic value

+ An eye for detail, not accepting second best and taking personal pride and responsibility for all aspects within their control

+ Outstanding proposal writing skills and solid, basic graphic design skills; the ability to turn 'raw information' into well-articulated proposal content

+ A sound working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and Adobe InDesign

+ A flexible approach to leading bids and business development activities across the UK & Ireland

+ The ability to work collaboratively and build credibility with senior colleagues and provide critique of others' work while maintaining positive relationships

+ The ability to work collaboratively with internal clients and to chase others for contributions as needed

+ A methodical approach in the administration and production of bids

+ The ability to work positively under pressure and deliver quality output to deadlines

+ The drive to improve and adhere to processes / systems and the motivation to contribute to and support bid teams
