**Job Summary**

AECOM Capital a private equity fund focused on infrastructure public private partnerships (P3s) and opportunistic real estate investments around the globe. AECOM Capital is seeking a Commercial Director, to support its P3 project development and investments efforts, to join the P3 team in its New York office. The Commercial Director will take a lead role during the bidding and financial close process on P3 projects and will work with the bid team to take a consortium from pre-qualification to preferred bidder and through to Financial Close.

General Responsibilities:

The Commercial Director will lead and be responsible for the legal and commercial work streams for P3 bid submissions; conducting legal and financial due diligence; and will work closely with the asset management team during the transition from financial close to start of development. As a leader of a commercial bid team, he/she will coordinate and stimulate interaction, and provide leadership between the different fields of expertise involved in the bid process such as design, construction, finance, legal and maintenance working groups.

Specific Responsibilities:

+ Serve as Commercial Director and also a significant contributor to a successful bidding process during which s/he will be part of the team leading the negotiations and working with technical staff, clients, partners, suppliers and external consultants.

+ Represent AECOM Capital’s interests in key meetings and contractual negotiations on key issues with both the client and sub-contractors; preparing and negotiating Heads of Terms/Agreements with Co-Developers, sub-contractors and consultants; and managing bid budgets.

+ Lead commercial/legal bid working groups during the development of bids; ensure that investments are secured on terms consistent with the business objectives, established investment/risk criteria and all approvals; provide strategic input into bids to support the development of fully optimised proposals.

+ Provide sector-specific knowledge of different approaches to the allocation and management of risks; keeping up-to-date with current market trends, including sector benchmarks and approaches to key risks; and developing long term relationships with key delivery partners.

+ Manage and participate in pricing development, internal risk reviews and presentations. Conducts proposal meetings, assigns tasks and sets deadlines, tracks progress, communicates and compiles information from involved departments and ensures that project requirements and deadlines are met.

+ Set and maintain high standards in bid quality, in both the process and end products.

+ Conduct bid analysis, prepare investment memos and perform preliminary risk assessments on potential P3 bids.

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Undergraduate degree in Law, Business, Engineering, or Economics. Master’s Degree preferred.

+ Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Previous project finance or project development experience having held a leading role in PPP bids and negotiated and finalized PPP key agreements.

+ Minimum of 3-5 completed years with a developer, law firm or Construction Company.

+ Comprehensive knowledge of the contractual, legal and financial aspects within the Project Finance/PPP sector.

+ Self-starter with ability to multi-task and efficiently manage time and workload.

+ Ability to work well in a team environment or on an individual basis.

+ Strong coordination skills, business development skills and excellent written and verbal communications skills.

+ Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.

+ Proven commercial skills with a high level of energy and a commitment to professional excellence.

+ The projects will most likely be in the US; however, there will also be some projects in Canada and Latin America. As such flexibility to travel is essential for client one on one meetings during the bidding and financial close process.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Master's degree preferred.
