**Job Summary**

The Buildings and Places Division of AECOM has an immediate need for an energetic, self-motivated, highly collaborative Designer II to join its Washington, DC / Arlington, Virginia Interiors Workplace Practice. This position would initiate within AECOM’s offices and transition to an on-site position at the US Department of Agriculture Headquarters Facilities Management Offices in Washington, D.C on the National Mall. The USDA headquarters is the second largest federal office in the National Capital Area and is dedicated to implementing sustainable facilities design and planning. The candidate will become part of the AECOM team that is advancing a major new federal office consolidation effort for USDA workspaces within the National Capital Region.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Will work closely with the USDA Facilities lead and the AECOM design team to manage the development of the new agency-wide facilities data base for USDA facilities

+ Surveying, programming, test fits, space plans, design development, construction documents, construction administration, and furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) packages for USDA’s interim moves within the existing 4 million square feet of office facilities

+ As part of this position training will be provided for FM:Interact and Revit

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor's Degree an accredited Architecture or Interior Design program

+ 2+ years of experience in Interior Architecture and Interior Design field

+ Candidates should possess some working knowledge in design and production of all phases of an Interiors project delivery including programming, test fits, space plans, design development, construction documents, construction administration and furniture, fixtures & equipment (FF&E) selection and color board presentation documentation

+ Candidates should be proficient in a wide variety of production and visualization software including but not limited to: AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch-Up or other visualization software, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign and Microsoft Office products

+ Candidate should be preparing to meet all qualifications to sit for NCIDQ, LEED and/or ARE exams

+ Candidates should possess strong communication, planning and collaboration skills and be comfortable working in both corporate and public practice team environments

+ Commitment, experience and interest in supporting a new federal facilities management team that will become a national model for similar federal office planning and design throughout the nation are required

+ Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Familiarity or experience with Facilities Management software such as FM: Interact preferred but is not required
