**Job Summary**

AECOM is seeking a Finance Director in our Facilities Operations & Maintenance group. This is a senior level management position, and will be located in our Peoria, IL office.



This position provides direct oversight and direction to the support functions identified below. The Business Director reports to the Vice President of Business Operations and partners with various business leaders / stakeholders throughout the organization, both domestic and international, to develop a close working relationship in support of the business’ objectives.



Primary Responsibilities:



+ Establishes key business initiatives with measurable goals and milestones that provide support to the overall account and company strategy.

+ Leads, motivates, and develops strong, diverse leadership teams, and works to verify that the team operates as a single cooperative unit. Strengthens the team by recruiting top industry talent. Encourages and enables junior and mid-level employees to ascend to new, challenging, and rewarding positions. Implements long term succession and monitoring staff development plans for the next generation of leaders

+ Develops implementation strategies that engage staff at all levels operating with one vision to achieve the desired outcomes.

+ Oversees/Prepares budgets, establishing key metrics, and monitoring performance; maintaining a healthy office P&L by closely managing and forecasting sales, staffing, utilization, overhead costs, profitability, and cash flow.

+ Oversees monthly closing process.

+ Assists/Prepares various facets of proposals.

+ Evaluates the performance of subordinates on a regular basis and provides direct feedback, counsel, and coaching to continually improve operations. Communicates expectations and hold managers accountable for meeting financial goals and performance metrics, while maintaining a high level of motivation and morale for a team-oriented work environment.

+ Identifies operational issues, develops plans to address these issues, and oversees implementation. Leads risk assessment and management procedures for the local operation, engaging senior management as appropriate.

+ Conducts project reviews to monitor project performance. Verifies proper project management practices are incorporated and followed. Verifies appropriate quality, safety, and accounting standards are being followed. Verifies appropriate company-wide expertise is leveraged to plan and deliver a successful project. Verifies client satisfaction. Provides guidance and coaching to project teams as needed.

+ Guides and empowers support teams and committees (e.g., human resources, safety, quality, recruiting, accounting, training, marketing, sustainability, and great place to work) to assist in maintaining a balanced and healthy operation and work environment. Verifies that safety and business ethics remain a top priority.

+ Reviews and upgrades local operating policies, procedures, and standards that will enable the account to maintain maximum competitive advantage.

+ Creates and maintains a team-centered, growth-oriented and entrepreneurial business culture that seeks to identify new business opportunities, anticipates and responds to market and client needs, and builds value for the company, clients, and employees through excellent project execution.

+ Keeps up with major trends, activities, and requirements within the facility management industry.

+ Resolves conflicts or controversy to facilitate meeting established company objectives.

+ Provides knowledge and experience including but not limited to: facility management processes, construction and engineering processes, materials, contract administration, subcontractor management, claim negotiations, project controls, labor relations, finance, manpower development and utilization.

+ Comprehends, uses, and easily navigates among work groups and business units within a high matrix organization to achieve end results within established timetables and deadlines.

+ Consistently demonstrates the ability to proactively identify potential project problems or opportunities, analyze the issues using all appropriate resources, develop alternatives, and arrive at the most optimum approach to mitigate problems or exploit opportunities.

+ Capable of developing and taking responsibility for the Project Execution Plan development for medium and/or large size projects.

**Minimum Requirements**

**Minimum Requirements:**



1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.

2. Ten years of experience managing an office or team in the facility management industry.

3. Must be willing to relocate to serve the needs of the business, or be willing travel up to 50%.



**Additional Information:**



+ Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

+ This position requires a valid Driver’s License.

+ This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

+ This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.

+ This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.



**Physical Requirements:**



+ Requires ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen.

+ Requires ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access data bases, to send/receive messages and to prepare documents.

+ Requires ability to attend meetings throughout the site and potentially travel to other AECOM, customer and/or vendor locations in the area, as well as some air travel to more distant locations.

+ Requires the ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings and presentations.

+ Demonstrated fluency in computer use including the full Microsoft product line.

+ Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout diverse work environments as required by business demand.

+ Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movements.

+ Requires some moving of light to medium weight materials into desks, filing cabinets and other storage locations.

+ Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.



**Special Requirements:**



+ Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

+ Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

1. Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related program.

2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.

3. Demonstrated history of leveraging long-term vision and strategic thinking to grow operations in a challenging economic environment.

4. Record of successfully recruiting, retaining, and promoting world-class professionals and managers.

5. Record of successfully managing staff with diverse backgrounds.

6. Outstanding organizational skills, including the ability to multitask competing priorities.

7. Commitment to driving strong business performance, continuous improvement and best practices.

8. Creative and proactive approach to problem solving.

9. Excellent listening and communication skills.



**Other Attributes:**



+ Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
