**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Electrical Engineer II / Electrical Engineer III for immediate employment in the New York, NY office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Electrical Engineer II

+ Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities

+ Interpret and implement client standards into code complainant designs

+ Survey and evaluate existing conditions in order to formulate a fully coordinated scope of work within your code compliant electrical designs

+ Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives

+ Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids

+ Assist with the electrical design of power, lighting, fire alarm, low voltage systems for K-12 schools and higher education facilities

+ Work under supervision of a project manager or senior level team member

Electrical Engineer III

+ While working cooperatively with the Education Market Sector Leadership, this position shall work seamlessly with the Managing Principal or MEP Practice Leader in evaluating staffing needs

+ Establishes and maintains quality and accuracy standards, works well within a Total Quality Management Culture (TQM)

+ Work cooperatively with other managers and employees to achieve company's mission, and clients’ needs

+ Organizes discipline efforts for the Education Market Sector projects

+ Plan, develop, coordinate and direct the completion of assigned discipline projects

+ Ensures discipline plans are created that meet overall project team requirements for project scope and schedule

+ Accountable for assuring that a project plan is developed for each project and thoroughly communicated, understood and utilized by the project lead team

+ Serve as technical advisor and apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to all projects assigned

+ Serve as a quality control & quality assurance reviewer

+ Stay current on codes and technologies, specific client standards

+ Ensure conformance with standards, established design practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design and construction

**Minimum Requirements**

Electrical Engineer II

+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering

+ 2+ years of consulting engineering experience, project management experience a plus

+ Relevant experience in electrical design and the preparation of construction documents (higher education, pre-kindergarten, and K-12 schools)

+ Knowledge of and experience with high performance and sustainable building practices

+ Capable of using spreadsheets, word processing and standard office software

+ Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AGI, Power System Analysis, MS Office and AutoCAD)

+ Revit experience

+ Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

+ Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to travel 15%-20% of the time

Electrical Engineer III

+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

+ 5+ years of consulting engineering experience, including at least 2 years of project management experience

+ Relevant experience in Electrical design and the preparation of design and construction documents (higher education, pre-kindergarten, and K-12 schools)

+ Competent in all conventional aspects of Electrical engineering and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard Electrical engineering techniques, procedures and criteria

+ Knowledge of and experience with high performance and sustainable building practices

+ Experience in leading teams of in-house and consultant staff

+ Excellent supervisory skills and ability to communicate with and motivate team members

+ Must be able to supervise staff on multiple projects, provide assertive management, technical leadership and support to team members, verify that all work is completed as planned and scheduled in compliance with client, and company quality assurance practices.

+ Demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving problems

+ Strong technical knowledge and ability to serve in the role as a Project Manager responsible for a multi-disciplinary team in the development of comprehensive, coordinated construction documents for small to large diverse and complex projects

+ Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

+ Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to travel, potentially 15%-20% of the time

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Registered Professional Engineer in New York or ability to obtain by reciprocity within 3 months of hire.

+ NYC School Construction Authority project experience.

+ Primavera Software / Contract Manager

+ LEED accredited
