**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Communication and Community Engagement Specialist for employment in the GTA or Guelph, Ontario offices.

Maintaining and monitoring engagement tracking data, and managing related processes and documentation flow

Working with our clients, the AECOM Communication and Community Engagement team engages stakeholders with intent to seek input and gain a social license to move large, complex and high-profile projects forward. We design communication and engagement strategies and materials that inform, educate and motivate. The appropriately qualified candidate will join a multidisciplinary, collaborative nation-wide team focused on the delivery of superior services. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Developing, executing and monitoring communication / community engagement plans to support client activities

+ Developing and executing social media strategies and on-line engagement

+ Developing project related communications including key messages, scripts, fact sheets, newsletters, presentations, and panel boards

+ Supporting the design and implementation of public information sessions, open houses, advisory committee meetings and other live events

+ Developing stakeholder profiles and engagement recommendations

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelors degree or diploma in communications, public relations, planning or business

+ Knowledge of communications / community engagement to support change, including large infrastructure development, planning projects or organizational management and redesign

+ Knowledge of and experience working with social media tools to promote effective public awareness and engagement

+ Strong writing and presentation abilities

+ Strong problem solving skills and familiarity with computer applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation applications)

+ Proven ability to effectively interact with the public and other varied stakeholders

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Master’s degree in communications, public relations, planning or business

+ Familiarity with InDesign and design packages is an asset.

+ IAP2 certification is an asset

+ Experience engaging with Aboriginal communities is an asset

+ Familiarity with the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act, and the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act is an asset
