AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Construction Engineer for employment in the New York City, NY office. Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer, the responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: :

+ Perform a variety of tasks of moderate scope and complexity which will be reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall accuracy

+ Gather, calculate, perform quantity takeoffs and compiles data for use in conceptual/bid proposal estimates. Maintains current, accurate information on prices from suppliers and contractors through direct contact, written materials, sales brochures, prices lists, etc. Reviews change requests and proposals for coordination with various construction trades.

+ Participate with inspection and quality assurance staff to determine compliance with contract requirements

+ Produce budgets, schedules and logistical analysis from conceptual plans and specifications

+ Responsible for managing the construction engineering functions including the documents and reports on a construction project to ensure adherence to all engineering construction plans and specifications Also responsible for weekly and monthly reporting deliverables, as required by contract to stakeholders. May also perform field inspections of contractor installations to ensure installations are in accordance with approved submittals and all engineering contract documents.

+ Maintains document control system and logs, including Requests for Information (RFI) responses, submittal reviews, application of payments, and change orders. Receives submittals, deliverables, correspondence, and documents including payment application, claims, disputes, requests for information, etc. and reviews/coordinates and prepares responses and or processes as appropriate, utilizing applicable policies and procedures set for the construction project

+ Assist with managing project budget and handles budget change orders when additional or changed services are required

+ Provide construction administration support for project related contracts including budgets and timeline, cost tracking and ensuring all conditions in the contract are met.

+ Review change order modification requests for entitlements for mid-size projects or portions of larger projects

+ Prepare monthly estimates to complete or earned value calculations for submittal to the client

+ Assist in daily scheduling of technician staff, including inspectors and coordinates training of client and AECOM staff

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor’s degree in Construction engineering, Civil engineering, construction management or other related field required

+ Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software

+ Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) preferred
