**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Geologist/Scientist for employment in the Orlando, FL office. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope

+ Collect and enter data, and apply technical principles and theories

+ Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance

+ Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member

+ Gather, organize, and analyze field data to be used in the preparation of scientific reports

+ Conduct environmental assessments to define the nature and extent of contamination

+ Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments

+ Prepare high-quality technical reports and environmental permit application packages

+ Perform environmental sampling (predominantly soil and groundwater) in accordance with Florida Department of Protection Standard Operating Procedures for Field Sampling

+ Perform environmental work in accordance with Chapter 62-780 Florida Administrative Code

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific discipline (e.g., environmental science, geophysics, hydrogeology, geochemistry, environmental geology, geomorphology, hydrogeology, environmental engineering)

+ 0-2 years of experience

+ Must be willing and prepared to work predominantly in the field to perform the field activities listed above.

+ Must be proficient with MS Office applications

+ Ability to write and convey thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise manner

+ Ability to learn through on-the-job experience

+ Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds and safely drive a full-size pickup truck

+ Must be able to work outdoors year-round

+ Willingness and availability to travel occasionally (within Florida)

+ Must possess a valid driver license

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping and analysis

+ AutoCAD experience

+ 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification

+ Experience performing field sampling in accordance with FDEP SOP

+ Understanding of and experience working in accordance with Chapter 62-780 FAC
