**Job Summary**

The Transportation Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented entry-level roadway design technician to work in Arlington, VA with our group of civil/transportation engineering professionals in a team setting. In this position, the candidate will assist in the plan, production and design of the roadway portion of the project. Trainee will be involved in the AECOM QC process, addressing comments provided on the plan sheets and design. AECOM is pleased to include you in a unique development opportunity, the Graduate Development Program (GDP). Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer:

+ Review the RFP Technical Provisions to get a better understanding of the technical requirements and conditions of the project; not limited to new roadway section, but any section that has impact on roads and streets

+ Assist with roadway design work to include creation and updating of plan sheets

+ Assist with assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out roadway design tasks as instructed.

+ Will participate in weekly roadway staff call and provide input on status of work performed the previous week and to be performed the following week.

+ Attend client meetings as requiredAssist in the design roadway projects including collector and local roadways

**Minimum Requirements**

+ B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or currently enrolled in an accredited university or college and at least a junior.

+ Ability to work with: Microsoft Office, Microstation, Geopak

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

+ Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to present and discuss technical content with clients, regulatory agency staff, and the public.

+ Must be highly self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail oriented work, and demonstrate effective time management skills.

+ Ability to work with: Microsoft Office, Microstation, Geopak
