**Job Summary**

AECOM is seeking an Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Advisor to be based in our Saskatoon, Saskatchewan location.

This position will report to the EHS Lead/Manager and assigned to a defined geographic area or project(s) of responsibility. The incumbent provides “hands on” and site level EHS technical expertise. Seeks continuous improvement of all EHS processes, maintaining a risk based approach to support a company culture that “all incidents can be prevented”. The incumbent must possess strong problem solving, interpersonal, project management, mentoring, coaching and communication (oral & written) skills.

May include the following responsibilities:

+ Report to the Regional Safety Lead/Manager.

+ Leading, guiding, and mentoring employees on company Safety Best Practice’s, focused on loss prevention, risk management and hold the belief that People Are Number One 24/7.

+ Performs reporting, risk assessments and auditing and observes all EHS related activities and policies within a location. Trains and coaches employees on various tasks and ensures all employees meet company training requirements for their specific role

+ Performs accident investigations and communicates with the EHS Lead / Manager and others until all action items have been closed.

+ Files EHS documents and participates in job risk analysis and continual improvement programs in the district.

+ Meets applicable regulatory codes and standards when required.

+ May function as a generalist responsible for multiple EHS facets on a small project or as a specialist on larger projects.

+ Provides technical assistance and training to office and field operations to ensure compliance with applicable Company EHS regulations.

+ Responsible for the development, implementation and administration of program(s) designed to assist management and project personnel in assuring compliance with EHS standards, regulatory requirements and licensing.

+ Plans and coordinates safety and health classes for craft and supervisory employees

This position will be required to drive a vehicle on behalf of AECOM and therefore will require the candidate to submit a satisfactory driver's abstract for review.

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Post secondary certification from an accredited college, university or technical institution in Environmental, Health and Safety or equivalent experience is required

+ Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) Certificaiton or PST (Petroleum Safety Training)

+ First Aid - Standard Level Certification

+ A valid Class 1 or Class 5 driver's license and a clean driver's abstract are requirements of this position.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ CSO – Construction Safety Officer or working towards

* CRSP, **CSP, ***CHSC designation (

* Construction Safety Officer,**Canadian Registered Safety Professional, ***Certified Safety Professional, Certified Health and Safety Consultant) is preferred

+ Previous work experience in an industrial, industrial maintenance and/or construction environment is an asset.

+ MS office proficiency is preferred.
