AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Structural Engineer for employment in the Mechanicsburg, PA office. Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer, you will:

+ Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.

+ Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives

+ Prepare engineering related structural calculations and develop drawings and visual aids for bridges and transportation related facilities

+ Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member

+ Applyknowledge of civil engineering principles and practices for assigned structural design projects

+ Assist a project manager or senior engineer with task production including preparing engineering related calculations, drawings, and visual aids

+ Produce high quality plans that are accurate and effective in communicating the design concept to the constructor

+ Review field information including construction submittals, RFI’s and shop drawings

+ Perform field inspection of existing facilities and ongoing construction

+ Prepare reports for on-site inspection of projects

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in structures

+ Experience with spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills

+ Be organized and detail-oriented

+ Proficient in steel and concrete design and analysis

+ Must possess a valid driver license

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) preferred

+ Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in structures

+ Experience with SAP2000, LUSAS or GTStrudl

+ Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications

+ Familiarity with PennDOT design programs

+ Previous intern/coop/work experience in structural engineering or bridge design/inspection
