Gensler’s London Office is seeking a Financial Services – Workplace Designer to join our team of design thinkers and doers who specialise in helping to tell stories and create experiences for our Financial Services Clients. Our intimate understanding of the financial services environment, be it investment or commercial banking, insurance, private equity or hedge fund companies places us in a unique position to meet our clients’ needs effectively both locally and globally.

A self-motivated team player with a positive, communicative and collaborative approach, you will work in partnership with colleagues across Gensler’s practice areas, as well as with manufacturers and stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

As a Workplace Designer, you will tap into your boundless creativity to design unique professional environments, providing design support for completion and execution of design projects, working on all project design stages and your responsibilities will include:

  • Brief taking
  • Test fitting exercises
  • Conceptual design
  • Schematic design
  • Design development
  • Construction documents.

You must also possess the following attributes:

  • Demonstrates creativity, passion and interest in design and planning of financial services workplaces. / Strong interest in financial services and operations
  • Highly motivated, independent worker with complex problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic and flexible. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding environment
  • Well-rounded, strategic-thinker with an integrated approach to design, management and technical project resolution who can help shape a vision for the future
  • High level of enthusiasm and ability to positively influencing people, situations and results.
  • Ability to face new challenges, create solutions and work outside your comfort zone.
  • We seek someone who will be energized to create something new every day and who will be eager to collaborate in a team environment.
  • You have a reputation as a collaborator, building strong relationships with clients, project stakeholders and project teams and navigating complexity with great effect.
  • Provides leadership to carry out the goals and objectives of the project and communicates with team members in a timely manner.
  • Anticipates and develops solutions to technical and design problems following established standards.
  • Ability to convey financial services planning needs to designers and end users.
  • Applicants must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and work effectively with client’s and their senior management representatives, facilities and project managers, and other project stakeholders in determining and documenting programmatic requirements, and in planning financial services workplaces
  • Capable of traveling to and from project sites for attending client, project and construction meetings. 

 

Must Have Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of Corporate/workplace Interior Design
  • A good working knowledge of Autocad &/or Revit is essential
  • Demonstrable presentation and client relations skills
  • Bachelors’ Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited school
  • Excellent graphic and visualisation skills to communicate design ideas
  • Excellent collaboration skills, good self-organisation and strong ability to work in a team environment
  • Has a good understanding of FF&E, colour and material specification and development
  • Proven professional experience essential
  • Familiarity with the different facets of a financial services firm.
