**Job Summary**

Due to a strong pipeline of work, AECOM is looking to secure the services of a Level 2 Head of Document Control.

As the Head of Document Control you would be responsible for the overall program document control activities, including the establishment and implementation of the document control system on the project including the EPCM contract, construction contract, logistics contracts. Aconex will be used. Experience of similar roll out and management responsibility preferred. The value of the EPCM contract is around $ 250 million. Overall program value $3.5 billion capital project. Oil and gas experience and specialisation preferred. Initially you would be based in Houston, and may transfer to the project office in East Africa after 6 to 12months.

The Document Control Manager develops and implements document control procedures and monitors their appropriate implementation on the EACOP program. Approximately 25 document control staff reports to this position.

Ensures that the document control team efficiently processes and retrieves electronic and hard copy documents.

Ensures 15 different contractors implements document control system.

Monitors the functionality and accuracy of Aconex and coordinates any modifications. Maintains continuous communication with all Program members regarding document control issues.

Must be a subject matter expert in Document Controls systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Developing and/or revising document control procedures as required by the Program.

+ Ensuring that activities in the document control processing adhere to document control procedures.

+ Monitoring the use of the automated workflows and ensuring they are consistently operational / performing as designed.

+ Issuing and distributing reports on the status of documents to ensure all outstanding issues have been addressed.

+ Supervising the proper organization and maintenance of the Program Technical Library.

+ Communicating with all Program staff about any policy changes in the document control department.

+ Ensuring that all requests for documents are addressed in an efficient and expedited manner.

+ Preparing document control reports or any type of document required by any Program department.

+ Ensuring document distribution, both in hard copy and electronic copy, is carried out efficiently to meet the needs of the Program.

+ Supervising and managing the activities of the document control associates. Communicating with the staff and ensuring that the necessary equipment and training are provided.

**Minimum Requirements**


+ 10 years of relevant experience including five years performing similar functions.

Specific skills required:

+ Must be a self starter who can work under limited direction day to day and meet goals and objectives as set by managers.

+ Must be willing to take the initiative without specific direction; ability to work independently.

+ Proven accuracy, reliability and completeness in performance of duties.

+ Ability to interface with design/engineering and construction personnel.

+ Ability to assume additional responsibilities.

+ Client facing

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Bachelor’s degree in subject matter – Engineering or equivalent.
