**Job Summary**

AECOM is seeking a 1 st shift Instrumentation Technician IV for our pharmaceutical facility team in Groton, CT!

+ Typical work hours are 7:00am – 3:30pm; hours may vary based on the requirements of critical business demand.

This I&C technician is responsible for providing an advanced level of expertise in **responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventative maintenance** on the **low voltage instrumentation and controls** that support the **electrical generation, distribution, and monitoring** **equipment** ; the electrical instrumentation equipment to complex boiler and chiller systems; and any instrumentation and controls associated with fire safety systems, **VFD’s, motor starters, lighting controls, PLCs and** **related electrical and mechanical** **systems** within a pharmaceutical research facility. Works with Honeywell, Edstrom, and Siemens Controls and associated instrumentation.

The Instrumentation Technician IV must have the ability to identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures. General Maintenance of equipment will also be required.

Essential Functions:

+ Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs controls for Building Management Systems, heating and ventilation equipment, fire systems, pumps, fans, chillers, dryers, compressors, and related equipment as necessary.

+ Assures calibration and maintenance of instrumentation, equipment, and controls for optimum performance.

+ Develops and maintains good working relationships with other technicians to ensure effective troubleshooting and repair of equipment and systems.

+ Creates and modifies site operations procedures for equipment and recommends facilities reliability improvements.

+ Utilizes strong mechanical and electrical skills in order to complete assignments.

+ Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC control and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Maximo.

+ Develops and/or improves existing maintenance procedures in his/her responsible area.

+ Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards.

+ Under general supervision, performs tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

+ Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.

+ Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems

+ Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.

+ Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, and wearing PPE as required.

+ Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions.

+ Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.

+ Maintains a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment.

+ Flexible in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.

**Minimum Requirements**

**Minimum Requirements:**

1. High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent.

2. Five years of experience in industrial facility instrumentation maintenance, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.

**Additional Information:**

+ Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

+ This position may require a valid Driver’s License.

+ This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

+ This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.

+ This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.

**Physical Requirements:**

+ Requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods and walk extensively throughout the facility during shift.

+ Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat, twist, crawl, and climb repetitive during shift.

+ Requires the ability to regularly kneel, work in cramped or confined spaces, or assume uncomfortable or tiring body positions repetitive for shift.

+ Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.

+ Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.

+ Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, stairs, or scaffolding at least 10 times during shift.

+ Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 100 lbs.

+ Requires the ability to work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions, as needed.

+ Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.

+ Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.

+ Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

+ Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.

**Special Requirements:**

+ Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

+ Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

**Preferred Qualifications**

**Preferred Qualifications:**

1. Associate’s Degree in Electronics or Instrument Controls Technology.

2. Experience troubleshooting BAS / BMS systems and controls (Honeywell, Siemens, Edstrom, etc.)

3. Experience with electrical distribution components, boilers and chillers, fire systems, PLCs, and VFD’s.

4. Experience reading and understanding ladder logic, applying that to a desired sequence of operation, and recommending or making edits/changes as needed.

5. Experience working in a CMMS environment, preferably EAMS.

6. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

**Other Attributes:**

+ May be required to work overtime, variable shifts and 24-hour/7 days a week on-call as needed.
