**Job Summary**

The Legal Counsel – South East Asia (“SEA”) provides leadership and advice regarding all legal matters affecting the AECOM SEA business. You will in your role reporting to Chief Counsel, SEA be a member of the AECOM SEA Leadership Team where you will provide strategic legal advice to the AECOM SEA business. You will also provide corporate governance advice . You will be a member of the SEA Legal Team which consist of a high performing and engaged group of lawyers. You will liaise with your internal stakteholders up, down and across the organisation in a proactive and collaborative manner.

+ Managing relationships with key stakeholders across all levels of an organisation

+ Providing timely and pragmatic legal advice to your internal stakeholders (listed below under ‘Key Relationships’ section)

+ Being part of management of SEA’s legal affairs and demonstrate sound judgement and commercial acumen in order to ensure business goals are met

+ Ensuring legal risk is eliminated or minimised as far as reasonably possible

+ Advising on major projects and strategic legal issues

+ Managing major claims and litigation matters

+ Managing SEA’s PI insurance program and liaising with our Global insurance team regarding insurance matters

+ Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, policies and procedures

**Financial/Project Management**

+ Managing external lawyers and external legal costs

**Internal Business**

+ Member of the SEA Office of Risk Management and managing risk within SEA

+ Member of the SEA Legal Team and foster a can-do, collaborative and engaged team

+ Liaising with Global Legal Team on Global change initiatives and legal matters

+ Liaising with and support other SEA Support Services functions (eg. HR, IT, Finance)

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Minimum 5 years of post qualification experience including experience working within large multinational organisations

+ Legal Counsel, mid or senior associate or other similar experience

+ Proven track record in being a member of high performing in-house legal teams or similar legal firm experience

+ Demonstrated track record of adding value to a diverse and dynamic business

+ Demonstrable client focus and can do approach

+ Excellent interpersonal skills and experience in managing relationships with key stakeholders across all levels of an organisation

+ Company secretarial experience and history advising boards and senior executives considered an advantage

+ Legal experience gained in working with the construction or engineering industry would also be considered an advantage

+ Experience in similar advisory positions in more than one of the SEA countries is preferable

+ Be a role model and lead by example in terms of integrity and prudent legal risk management

+ Develop influence within the SEA infrastructure market and be seen as a leader within that market

+ You will be pro-active, positive and collaborative

+ Any other duties AECOM may reasonably require you to perform

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ A recognised Bachelor’s degree in law and admission to practice in any of the SEA countries
