**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Marine Structural Engineer for immediate employment for the New Orleans, LA office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

+ Performs structural analyses designs and site layouts of Port and Marine facilities

+ Performs Dynamic structural analyses of Port and Marine facilities

+ Develops arrangement and placement of terminal mooring points

+ Design of Breakwater structures

+ Determines forces in the mooring lines due to changes in ship elevation and Coordinates structural and geotechnical activities, develops structural and soil-structure design criteria

+ Designs mooring/breasting dolphins and the fender systems

+ Design of water front structures

+ Hydraulic Modeling of Flood and sediment on canals

+ Prepares drawings and technical specifications for Port and Marine facilities

+ Prepares cost estimates

+ Prepares engineering reports

+ Provides engineering support during construction

+ Reviews completed work to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes and design data

+ Develops and conducts technical training seminars

+ Develops alternate solutions to existing problems. Performs all detail work necessary to determine best solutions

+ Informs the Principal Engineer or Supervising Discipline Engineer when problems arise

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor’s degree in Structural, Marine or Civil Engineering

+ 5+ years of experience with at least 3 years experiences in the design of Marine and Coastal facilities

+ Professional Engineer's License in State of LA, or possibility to obtain one within a year of hired

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ Able to perform technical reviews of design effort by others

+ Fully understands and utilizes the capabilities, applications, and operations of computer software associated with design assignments and provides direction and guidance to others

+ Continually upgrades technical knowledge and capabilities, and pursues additional coursework and training

+ Complies with the company’s safety awareness program, office and/or field safety policies

Experience using at least three of the following

+ Autocad, Sap2000, SACs, ANSYS, Staad, MathLab, HEC-RAS, or Mike21

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Advanced degree in Engineering (Structural, Marine, or Civil disciplines), PH. D preferred.

+ Experience in technical and operational aspects of ports

+ Demonstrated knowledge of Wave and wind Load analysis

+ Experience designing jacketed steel marine structures
