About this Opportunity
As a Marketing Lead - Focused Markets, you'll be responsible for developing, programming, and executing integrated sales and marketing strategies to launch new products, services, and holistic value propositions to drive sales performance and growth within the key markets of Healthcare and Higher Education for Herman Miller's North America Contract business. You will build, shape, position, and create demand for Herman Miller solutions and design core platforms, portfolios, and the tools and experiences needed to sell them.

  • Lead cohesive sales and marketing plans for our vertical businesses, driving the POV, segmentation, and account and portfolio strategies.
  • Lead market and customer research to inform go-to-market plans and investments.
  • Lead the continued development and refinement of Herman Miller’s Focused Markets initiatives, ensuring full integration across multiple areas, including other Herman Miller brands and subsidiaries.
  • Partner and consult with Offer Teams to inform and influence the direction of product and service launches to enrich the form they take and their relevancy to our customers and to market opportunities.
  • Lead the planning, design, and execution for key tools and experiences, and manage external agency partners, internal resources, and project teams to achieve deliverables on-time and on-budget.
  • Lead the activation of these plans into the marketplace through Herman Miller platforms and properties, including sales and dealer channels.
  • Measure the impact of investments to drive refinements and continuous optimization, and to report back to leadership with results and recommendations.
  • Partner with the Focus Markets Marketing Manager to drive programs and strategies forward, exploring opportunities to create synergies across the Focused Markets approach and delivery mechanisms.
  • Partner with Sales to align and build connected account-based programs for key customers.
  • Collaborate interdepartmentally to align strategic goals and direction, prioritizing as needed.
  • Generate innovative ideas to promote our brand and products across all phases of our customers' buying journey.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

You might be just who we're looking for if you have...

  • A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Seven or more years of professional marketing experience.
  • One or more years of experience participating on and/or leading cross-functional project teams.
  • Demonstrated strong strategic, analytical, and communications skills.
  • Proven experience in program management, including strategic development, implementation, and results tracking.
  • A demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex projects in a timely manner in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities.
  • The ability to be a proven networker and to lead, inspire, and drive a range of teams and external partnerships forward.
  • Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to communicate information, ideas, procedures, and processes in a logical sequence and at a level appropriate to a range of audiences, resulting in effective working relationships.
  • A demonstrated ability to lead, influence, solve problems, and work with all levels in the organization, and in a cross-functional environment.
  • Knowledge of the Healthcare, Education, or Institutional environment (advantageous).
  • A demonstrated ability to author and execute strategy at a tactical level.
  • Experience in above-the-line and below-the-line marketing.
  • Experience in digital and web-based techniques and demand generation.
  • A willingness and ability to travel at least 20 percent of the time to achieve business objectives.
  • The ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations.
