Job Description


Gensler, the global design firm that leverages the power of design to create a better world,  is seeking a Marketing & Public Relations Coordinator to support its North Central regional Marketing/PR team. The coordinator manages the award submission and tracking process, prepares and distributes press materials and assists with event planning and other various PR duties to support the team and region. This role is also responsible for the management and upkeep of media lists, awards trackers and department reporting.


Primary Responsibilities:

Managing the ongoing award submission process

·         Conducting the internal calls for award entries and managing the award submission process

·         Identifying new awards for potential pursuit, tracking outcomes and merchandising results

·         Maintaining the calendar of award deadlines


Public Relations

·         Assisting with responses to proactive and reactive media opportunities

·         Assisting with the development of press releases and pitches

·         Creating and maintaining media lists

·         Monitoring and tracking coverage

·         Reviewing pertinent trade and consumer publications for opportunities

·         Assisting with the coordination of events, in-house panels, and external speaking engagements



  • Experience researching, designing, writing, and producing business proposals, presentations, and other collateral
  • Knowledge of the business development proposal process (RFP/RFQ)

Required Skills

·         Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field

·         Highly skilled in Adobe InDesign, Proficient in Photoshop +Illustrator

·         Communication: strong writing, editing, grammar and interpersonal skills

·         Presentation: polished professionalism with a comfort level interacting with high level executives

·         Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to prioritize, work under tight deadlines and to be a resourceful problem solver

·         Teamwork: must work well as a member of a team and pitch in to help out others

·         Client/customer service: understanding of public relations as a service to the office

·         Experience: Interest in architecture and design, with at least 1 year of public relations/communications experience
