**Job Summary**

Our AECOM Chelmsford, Massachusetts office is seeking a qualified and highly motivated individual for a full-time Mechanical HVAC Engineer III professional. This senior level HVAC design engineer position will involve a variety of new and renovations to existing governmental, commercial, institutional and industrial facilities.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Design and engineering of building heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems, as well as, energy conservation and sustainability,

+ Perform surveys to ascertain conditions of existing facilities

+ Perform studies to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of design alternatives, and recommend alternatives for implementation

+ Develop designs for a wide variety of projects, as well as, providing services during the construction phase

+ Design various mechanical systems and provision of building services for commercial, institutional, municipal, industrial and military facilities

+ Develop technical specifications, plans, elevations, section and details

+ Support and/or lead project teams

+ Prepare engineering related calculations

+ Verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards / practices

+ Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed

+ Delegate, oversee and review work prepared by other engineers within the department

+ Perform condition assessments, site visits, and construction inspections as needed

+ Mentor less experienced staff

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

+ 5+ years of experience

+ Must have a strong background in the design and engineering of building heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems, as well as, energy conservation and sustainability, and be skilled in the fundamentals of engineering thermo-fluids and psychrometrics.

+ Ability to work with a diverse team

+ Excellent oral and written communication skills

+ Detail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big picture

+ Experienced, self-directed professional

+ Must be a highly motivated self-starter with solid writing and verbal communication skills

+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work

+ Ability to work independently with minimal oversight

+ Ability to meet quality, schedule and budget expectations

+ Ability to multi-task and be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deadlines

+ Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)

+ Relocation benefits are not provided for this position.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Master's degree

+ 10+ years of experience

+ Licensed Professional Engineer in MA

+ LEED Accredited Professional

+ AutoCAD & REVIT experience

+ Plumbing and fire protection design experience

+ Licensed Professional Engineer in other states
