**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively searching for a Planning Manager for immediate employment in the Los Angeles office. This candidate should be able to demonstrate an established career in urban design with significant experience managing studios as well as major project and business development efforts. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Overseeing and coordinating the planning studio operations for a multi-office design, planning, and economics consulting practice

+ Proposing urban design solutions with thoughtful long-range views to a wide spectrum of client projects, ultimately developing solutions that effectively address the social, physical, and resiliency aspects of the physical urban form

+ Confer and collaborate effectively and efficiently with clients regarding design schemes and implementation programs

+ Assist clients with public hearings or meetings and manage public outreach activities when required

+ Coordinate planning studio efforts in large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects and/or lead large, multi-disciplinary project teams

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Urban Design, Planning, or related filed

+ 15+ years of experience in urban design and master planning at a wide range of scales and densities with a strong portfolio of built work that demonstrates excellent technical capabilities

+ Strong business development skills; ability to find, pursue, and win design services business opportunities

+ Significant previous experience in successfully managing design teams and/or operating studio groups including the ability to not only lead but build a successful studio and have it work as part of both stand-alone planning/design projects as well as multi-disciplinary efforts

+ Strong project management skills especially with regard to financial aspects of projects (scope, fee, schedule, and deliverables) and the assessment and mitigation of project risk

+ Strong graphic skills to create freehand perspective and rendering diagrams

+ Strong oral and written communication skills

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Master's Degree in related field preferred
