**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Power Engineer for immediate employment in the Atlanta, GA office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Responsible for the electrical engineering design for new construction and renovation projects

+ Apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations

+ Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures

+ Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making system selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives

+ Identify unusual or difficult problems and selects techniques and procedures to be applied on non-routine work

+ Receive minimal supervision on technical aspect of assignments

+ Mentor junior engineers and assist in their professional development

+ Work in a team based environment, and take the lead as needed

+ Evaluating, selecting and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications

+ Planning and conducting work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria

+ Resolving issues or problems concerning conflicting design requirements, specifications and/or difficult coordination requirements

+ Periodically conduct QC checks of peers work and perform technical presentations

+ Planning, scheduling, conducting or coordinating detailed phases of the engineering work as a part of a major project or small-moderate scope project

+ Reviewing, planning and, preparing technical specifications according to the contract documents

+ Coordinating and preparing deliverables (calculations, specifications and drawings) for submittal to clients

+ Representing project(s) to other disciplines and AECOM management

+ Interacting regularly with clients to expand work assignments or market new work

+ Assisting with proposals and scopes of work to provide services or obtain funding for engineering projects or programs

+ Design and specify medium and low-voltage power distribution systems including substations, transformers, switchgears/switchboards, panelboards, relay protection, MCCs, VFDs, UPS, and generators

+ Provide construction documents including plans and specifications for power and energy projects including combined heat and power, distributed generation, micro-grids/smart grids, battery and thermal energy storage, energy efficiency, and renewable energy

+ Design and specify cabling and conduit/cable tray cable distribution systems, grounding, and lightning protection systems

+ Design one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, control schematics, and panel layouts in AC and DC

+ Provide quality checks

+ Prepare bill of material, construction cost estimates, and provide engineering support during construction including testing and commissioning

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or 4 year Electrical Technology degree (EET) from an ABET accredited university

+ 5+ years of engineering experience

+ EIT or PE licensed

+ Proficient with Microsoft Office, REVIT, and AutoCAD

+ Proficient with power analysis tools such as SKM and ETAP to provide short circuit, arc flash, load flow, and protective device coordination studies

+ Excellent client/customer service skills

+ Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines and budget

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ Ability to travel as required to meet project requirements

+ Familiar with engineering and building codes: NEC, NFPA 110, NFPA 99, IBC, etc.

+ Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

+ Must possess a valid driver’s license

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Transmission and distribution experience is a plus

+ High voltage experience a plus
