Project Architect

Job Location: Charlotte, NC, US

Gensler’s Charlotte Lifestyle Flex Studio is seeking a Project Architect to manage, organize and coordinate project teams and team assignments to execute architectural projects. As a Project Architect at Gensler, you will join a highly creative, collaborative team dedicated to innovative problem solving and design excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for executing documents with design intent & technical quality

  • Responsible for project schedules and budgets in conjunction with Project Manager

  • Resolves complex technical/design issues and provides guidance and mentorship to team

  • Manage multiple aspects of client, team and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, etc.

  • Maintain the project manual and specifications

  • Conduct on-site observations and document site reviews

  • Process submittals/substitution requests during construction and address RFI

  • Interface with building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases of the project

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Architect preferred

  • Professional degree in Architecture required

  • 6-12 years experience in architectural practice with experience leading project teams

  • Full knowledge of architectural principles/practices

  • Knowledge of building codes, standards and structures

  • Ability to understand how buildings are constructed and to create technical documents that succinctly describe the work to be done

  • Revit experience required

  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication and relationship-management skills

  • Collaborative and team-conscious
