Our Washington, D.C. office welcomes a savvy, design inspired Project Manager for our Mixed-Use Practice. This studio focuses on Office, Residential, Hospitality, Retail and Planning opportunities both locally and abroad. In this position, you will have overall project responsibility for the design, quality control, client satisfaction and financial performance.  Our goal is to deliver large scale, innovational projects.

This is a rare opportunity to build a practice not only locally but in the Southeast Region!

Your Role:

  • Manage all phases throughout project scope, including project set-up, design and construction administration.
  • Develop, manage and maintain client relationships
  • Create and communicate clear and attainable project objectives and project requirements
  • Manage project scheduling, budgets and set-up with clients, sub-contractors, vendors and consultants
  • Craft project team work-plans and manage a range of project team sizes, comprised of project architects, interior designers, technical designers and consultants
  • Actively manage and track financial performance of project
  • Prepare project proposals, negotiate contracts and fees and coordinate bidding process
  • Help build a full scale, mixed-use practice

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture; Master’s a plus
  • Minimum of 12 to 15 years of related experience including demonstrated success as a project manager on various mixed use, large scale projects
  • BIM, Revit, Rhino skills a plus but not required
  • InDesign, Photoshop, Excel, Word skills encouraged
  • Registered Architect preferred
  • A passion for design and how it affects the individual and communities

Qualifications:

  • A history of leading, managing and mentoring multiple project teams
  • Experience with the entire project lifecycle of mixed-use (residential, office, hospitality, retail and planning) projects through to post-occupancy
  • Proven fiscal accountability and responsibility
  • Knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with tact and aplomb
  • Adept at maintaining existing client relationships and building new ones 
  • Business development skills and experience
