Gensler Los Angeles is seeking an experienced project manager to join our multi-disciplinary retail and graphic design studio. The range of projects includes graphic design, information design, environmental graphic design, signage and wayfinding. You should have a successful track record of managing all phases of brand design projects, from project start-up through design and implementation. You will also have overall project responsibility for client satisfaction, quality control and financial performance.
 
What You Will Do
  • Implement one or more client projects through the leadership of project teams; Provide leadership to client and team by communicating project objectives, contract scope, terms, and schedule
  • Manage scheduling, budgets, staffing, and project set-up with clients, sub-contractors, vendors and contractors
  • Prepare project proposals and negotiate contracts and fees; bid projects to multiple general contractors
  • Track and manage financial performance of project for success (e.g., work plan, schedule, fees, change orders, billings and collections)
  • Manage project lifecycle; estimating, bidding, project kick-off, weekly coordination, punch list, turnover, opening, and project close-out
 
Your Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of related experience in a design, brand, or retail design firm or in-house design department
  • Demonstrated success as a project manager on a range of brand design project types
  • Experience with the entire project lifecycle
  • Experience leading, managing and mentoring multiple project teams, including the ability to create and communicate clear and attainable project objectives and requirements
  • Experience preparing project proposals, negotiating contracts and fees, and coordinating the bidding process
  • Proven fiscal accountability and responsibility
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
