**Job Summary**

The Buildings & Places business line of AECOM is seeking a CAD Specialist for immediate employment in the Whitby, ON office.

The appropriate qualified candidate will act as a Project and CAD Specialist providing support to Project Managers on various design, construction, and study projects with involvement in client liaison, concept design, coordination with design staff, production of reports and presentation, cost estimating and administration, and preparation of specifications. Other duties include field inspection and field surveys.

The CAD Specialist will be responsible for developing and maintaining the CAD environment based on client requirements for use by designers and engineers. This includes user support, training, troubleshooting, and produce productivity enhancements and customizations. The individual should also have the ability to communicate effectively, have in-depth experience with Windows operating systems and troubleshooting, able to accurately estimate task durations and meet schedules, and able to simultaneously handle numerous tasks.

Reporting to Manager, Project Delivery, Buildings and Places, typical project assignments could include transit facilities, industrial facilities, and other types of infrastructure. Project types include new buildings, renovations, additions and site developments. The employee will also participate in feasibility studies for new buildings, needs studies, and building condition studies.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Build the CAD environment for new clients and projects. This includes developing UI, customizing tools and programs to improve efficiency and ensure quality of submissions

+ Installation and configuration of Microstation for new users, as well as CAD training for new users

+ Implement CAD compliance and QA/QC reviews for submissions, as well as enhancing CADD QA/QC procedures based on in-house users and client feedback

**Minimum Requirements**

+ 3+ years of relevant experience

+ Proficient in the following software: Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access; Drafting programs – Microstation, AECOsim, Revit, AutoCAD; Adobe Suite – Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator

+ **Computer Programming – Visual Basic for Applications, JavaScript**

+ Strong work ethic, professional ethics and a team-player

+ Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills

+ Must be able to prioritize projects with competing deadlines

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Undergraduate or technical degree in engineering or related education, with a focus on Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or related field

+ 5+ years of relevant experience
