**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Environmental Regional Business Line Leader for immediate employment in one of AECOM’s Bay Area offices. Responsible for the growth and profitability of the Environment business line in both AECOM’s Pacific and LA Metro Regions.

A compelling business leader with both P&L and sales growth responsibility. Sets the highest safety and ethical standards and leads by example. Drives employee engagement and professional development. Works cooperatively with other regions and business lines to integrate delivery of all AECOM’s services.

Provides industry leadership and develops and executes a growth strategy in coordination with the Business Line and Regional Leadership. Oversees development of capture strategies, directs pursuits of profitable business and ensures safe, high quality, profitable project delivery. May also represent the company in industry, municipal, provincial, state, and federal group forums.

Reports in a matrix to the Business Line and Regional Executives, works in conjunction with Market Sector and Account Leaders and oversees Regional Market Sector and Technical Practice Leaders. Is a member of the Business Line and Region Management Teams, and supports the overall performance of both.

Business Development

+ Customize the national Business Line strategy for the Region and Area with the Regional Executive and Regional Practice Leader and ENV Operations Director’s (EOD) inputs, taking into account unique local insights and variations

+ Liaise with National Business Line Executive to apply the business line expertise & experience, and to bring national resources to local/regional projects

+ Bring rigor and support to manage Go/No-Go decisions

+ Develop and execute the strategic client development plan in coordination with Practice Leaders (ie, prioritized list of key relationships and marketing plan to engage them)

+ Own, manage, and develop key clients/relationships while balancing those projects with local operational focus / EODs priorities (ie, regional or area priority clients)

+ Coordinate inputs and support from other functional teams (eg, Marketing)

+ Apply rigorous business development portfolio mgmt., tracking & optimizing BD budget to align with activities, projects, and time allocations

+ Engage / intervene to address client satisfaction / quality issues

+ Defines and mitigates risks and commercial terms during the pursuit process

+ Cross Business Line / Business Unit coordination within geography

+ Continuously interacts with clients assuring satisfaction with AECOM services and interacting with project delivery personnel to ensure any service issues are identified and addressed in a proactive manner

+ Serves as an ambassador for AECOM

Area Business Unit Enablement

+ Mentor Practice Leaders (PLs) to focus on the key business development client relationships by providing BD portfolio management (ie, BD budget allocation, ROI analysis, training PLs on BD/sales)

+ Help prioritize / facilitate conversations with ENV Operations Directors (EOD) to balance PLs work-load

+ Actively manage & oversee strategic projects & milestones especially those that are BL priorities and could lead to additional work/upselling

+ Share formal supervisory management of PLs with ENV Operations Directors

People

+ Develop, mentor, grow and train the local business development resources and actively share in the people management responsibilities with PLs and EODs for these resources

+ Load-share with PLs to support the local Seller/Doer resources with direction, guidance, and mentorship to balance project delivery with a focus on the strategic client projects (to drive additional work & upselling)

+ Conduct monthly reviews with EODs and PLs

+ Engage with Regional Executive and EODs on a regular basis for regional BD management

Key Performance Indicators

Safety, Employee Engagement & Retention, Client Satisfaction (NPS), Gross & Net Wins, Bookings, BD ROI, NSR, EBITA and Cash Flow.

Reporting Line

Dual report to DCSA Business Line Executive and Region Executive

Direct Reports

Region Market Sector Leads, Region/Metro Account Managers, (with Geography Account Managers), Practice Leads (teamed with Environment Operations Director)

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering or related

+ 15+ years related experience including 8+ years business development, operations management, and staff management

+ Proven record of developing new clients

+ Ability to discern new markets and develop business in those areas

+ Outstanding oral communication, written and presentation skills

+ Consultative, service-oriented mindset and collaborative problem-solving skills

+ Proactive and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently and manage change effectively

+ Able to manage a small team of experts to complete quality work products

+ Capacity to prepare winning proposals

+ A valid driver’s license is required

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Extensive experience in driving growth, developing strategy, generating sales, building high performance teams and delivering profit and cash flow
