**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and motivated Scientist Biology III for immediate employment in the Williamsport, PA office.

The candidate will be expected to perform delineations independently, lead larger field efforts and technical staff, provide local knowledge of Pennsylvania ecosystems, and produce high-level reports and documentation in support of reporting and permitting efforts for a variety of public and private sector clients. The work will involve a combination of office and field work and will include: wetland delineation, development of environmental technical documents and permit applications. experience in PA Experience with wetland delineation and permitting in Pennsylvania required with opportunities to also work in Ohio, New York, West Virginia and other locations to support an array of projects with abundant opportunities for professional growth and career development. A successful candidate will be able to work well with other staff and is comfortable working in small groups and will utilize these skills to prepare technical reports and interact with Clients and regulatory agency staff. The position may also include impact assessments, wetland monitoring, endangered species surveys, habitat assessments, and other studies

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Ability to coordinate and self-direct assigned field investigation tasks and ability to serve as a field lead capable of organizing and conducting wetland delineations in PA

+ Perform wetland identification, delineation, and functional assessment investigations in accordance with the USACE 1987 Manual and Regional Supplements and prepare all associated data sheets and wetland reports

+ Conducting field and office activities, protocol-level field surveys, technical report writing as well as other technical tasks

+ Collecting and analyzing biological data, and interacting with coworkers, clients, public, state and federal representatives regarding investigation results

+ Preparing and performing quality control of documents and other technical reports for local and regional projects

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor's degree in ecology, biology, botany, environmental science or other closely related discipline

+ 5+ years of experience

+ Ability to interpret data and convey complex thoughts and ideas in clear, concise written and verbal form

+ Proficiency with processing and interpreting data for evaluating biological communities

+ Strong technical writing skills and experience leading and overseeing jurisdictional delineation reports and preparing permit application packages related to the Federal Clean Water Act 401 certification and 404 permitting

+ Ability to work flexible work schedules and availability to meet priority deadlines outside of normal working hours

+ Ability and willingness to travel and work long hours in the field and conduct field work outdoors year-round in sometimes adverse climate and field conditions

+ Ability to work as part of a team and have the ability and desire to interact with clients and agency representatives

+ Familiarity with commonly accepted field data collection methodologies

+ Flexibility to serve as a cross-disciplinary resource to best meet the needs of AECOM and its clients

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Relevant professional work experience within the oil and gas industry a plus

+ Experience in ecosystem assessments and environmental permitting (Federal, State, etc.)

+ General understanding of how to operate Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and a Global Position Systems Unit to navigate and survey areas

+ General understanding of and past experience with threatened and endangered species surveys
