**Job Summary**

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Construction Manager for immediate employment in the Atlanta, GA office. The worksite location is in Sandy Springs, GA.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Meet with professional consultants, design project managers, and project inspectors to develop phasing plan, work restrictions, and construction schedule.

+ Chair preconstruction meeting and weekly construction progress meetings

+ Resolve unforeseen site conditions, unplanned interferences, utility delays, contract discrepancies, and other construction conflict problems and disputes between contractor, site staff, inspector, project manager, and professional consultants

+ Monitor construction progress and costs; take corrective action as required to manage both schedule and budget

+ Provide continuous coordination between all stakeholders

+ Administer the change order process; review requests for schedule or cost adjustment and negotiate changes to the contract; prepare change order documents for approval

+ Evaluate, approve, and process the contractor’s request for payment

+ Maintain project documentation files

+ Provide guidance and direction as needed to the project inspector

+ Respond to questions and concerns and ensure that all complaints from elected officials and the community are handled promptly and properly

+ Manage the project close out phase, including certificate of substantial completion, punchlist, and receipt of as-builts, warrantees, and manuals

+ Use word processing, spreadsheet, database, and scheduling software applications to prepare correspondence, reports, schedule, and other documents related to the project

+ Position reports directly to the TSPLOST Program Manager

+ The candidate must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and policies

+ The candidate is expected to meet attendance standards as determined by management. A typical work week is 40 hours, Monday through Friday. Occasionally he or she will be called upon to work overtime, such as attendance at City Council meetings

**Minimum Requirements**

+ High School diploma

+ 8+ years of progressive experience in transportation construction management

+ Valid driver's license required

+ The ability to get along with other coworkers, contractors and city officials is required

+ Due to the nature of this work, qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's degree in civil engineering

+ Candidate should have a strong technical background with the construction of various types of transportation projects including road and intersection improvements, sidewalks and multi-use paths

+ Familiarity with Georgia Department of Transportation construction specifications and guidelines

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office

+ Local government work experience is a plus

+ Experience with transportation construction contractors in Georgia is preferred

+ Proven experience delivering multiple projects with various funding sources on time and within budget
