**Job Summary**

Our GTA offices are seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join the Buildings + Places Group, as part of a growing, creative and diverse team. The Position will be based in Markham Ontario, but will entail regular coordination with B+P teams in Whitby, Kitchener and Ottawa AECOM offices.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Identifying potential clients and work

+ Securing and managing clients and work

+ Assisting Business Line Manager in the development of new business, and marketing efforts

+ Leading the A/E interior design efforts on major projects

+ Providing technical and professional guidance for less experienced staff

+ Preparing studies and providing peer reviews

+ Organizing and planning projects and preparing man-hours estimates

+ Assisting in the development of interior design standards and procedures

+ Providing quality control reviews

+ Providing advice and consultation to clients on interior design matters, including compliance with codes and regulations

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited University

+ 8+ years of related experience with Architectural or Interiors Specialty firm

+ Licensed as a Registered Interior Designer (ARIDO)

+ Significant local experience and client contacts

+ Experience within the ICI Sector that may include health care, post-secondary education and commercial projects

+ In-depth knowledge and practical experience with Workplace 2.0

+ Extensive experience in developing and preparing construction documents for institutional, commercial and federal projects

+ Proven track record with managing multiple projects simultaneously and being able to deliver project within budgets and on schedule

+ Strong technical skills related to planning, and interiors design and detailing

+ Experience coordinating work, civil, structural and MEP disciplines

+ Field experience with observing construction progress and capable of providing construction administration services

+ Experience in mentoring and supervising less experienced staff architects and interior designers

+ Ability to clearly communicate with Clients and peers

+ Experienced in Revit, AutoCad and Microsoft Office Applications

+ Diversified knowledge of interior design principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields

+ Project Management and Client management skills

+ Must possess a valid driver’s license

+ An understanding of LEED v. 4.0

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ 10+ years of related experience with Architectural or Interiors Specialty firm

+ Active in professional societies

+ Ability to obtain a security (secret level) clearance if needed

+ Federal agencies project experience

+ PWGSC project experience

+ Justice project experience

+ Post-secondary project experience

+ Strong presentation skills

+ Strong communication skills

+ Positive attitude

+ Vision for career growth
