**Job Summary**

AECOM is looking for an experienced Senior Manager Science with strong Project Management Skills to support an extensive portfolio of projects in coastal, inland and near shore environments in New England. We are looking for a superior candidate with applied technical skills, project management, team-leadership, and technical execution on these diverse projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ CERCLA Site evaluation and investigation especially marine, aquatic, coastal and terrestrial applications

+ Managing projects, meeting schedule and budget constraints and using earned value management techniques to track project status

+ Project management will include scheduling and mobilizing staff, selecting vendors, and managing performance to meet cost and schedule deadlines

+ Directing field programs involving field sampling in marine setting, biological and chemical sampling, coordination with laboratories and vendors

+ Support Program Managers with strong Project Management Skills and client facing roles

+ Write and review complex technical documents, perform high level review and strategy

+ Other duties as assigned

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline, such as marine science, ecology, biology/chemistry, environmental engineering, or other environmental discipline

+ 10+ years of scientific and/or technical experience working in related technical field, or equivalent experience

+ Experience leading large technical programs to government and industry clients

+ Demonstrated ability to collaborate with collaborators, subcontractors and research organizations

+ Prior experience with Dredged Materials Management and Assessment, as well as CERCLA, RCRA, and contaminated sediments settings highly desirable

+ The individual should also have a relevant technical background in physical sciences, oceanography or ecological studies in a marine/coastal and aquatic systems and experience in planning and managing projects

+ The successful candidate will possess demonstrated leadership qualities to work with Program Managers, clients and Team participants and a successful track record in developing and completing these initiatives

+ Strong history working with Government Clients including the USACE and US Navy and/or USEPA

+ Technical background in applied marine science (biological or physical) supporting scientific studies supporting dredged materials management, assessment and monitoring

+ Additional required experience with contaminated site investigation; including biological assessments, community characterization, media sampling, workplan preparation, and leadership on reporting

+ Strong team-oriented focus both working with Program Managers and overseeing staff executing staff

+ Ability to oversee collection and analysis of large spatially explicit data sets

+ Prior history working in New England coastal locations executing scientific studies for dredging and dredged materials management and monitoring

+ Experience with physical and chemical analyses associated with dredging projects

+ Ability to work with Program Managers to prepare responses to Task Order Requests, pricing, scoping of work and financial accountability

+ Strong understanding of remedial sampling and investigation as it relates to remedial site closure

+ Comprehension of Government compliant technical reports, deliverables, recordkeeping

+ Some regional project travel required (25%)

+ Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Master’s in a relevant technical discipline, such ecology, environmental engineering or other environmental discipline

+ Computer proficient in MS Office, ESRI ARC GIS, and a variety of statistical programs
