**Job Summary**

AECOM is seeking a creative, highly talented Staff Estimator or Consulting Estimator to support the Global Oil & Gas Business. This position can be based in either our Denver, CO or Houston, TX office location.

Position Description or Typical Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will possess the demonstrated skills and experience necessary to:

+ Efficiently deliver timely, responsive and responsible estimates that are consistent, objectively prepared and reliably accurate for their intended purpose. The end product being a “priced execution plan”.

+ Support multiple estimates simultaneously by implementing a thorough and methodical estimating process.

+ Work efficiently and effectively with project management and other engineering discipline leads to execute project work on schedule and within budget.

+ Support and present estimates to internal management and clients to ensure alignment on the estimate basis, execution plan, estimated cost and risk/contingency in evaluation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Prepares or assists in the preparation of order of magnitude, preliminary, definitive, change orders and check estimates using appropriate methods and techniques.

+ Prepares equipment and material take-off.

+ Utilizes the appropriate company and industry historical data for costing estimates.

+ Prepares or assists in the preparation of project and discipline estimate summaries.

+ Prepares or assists in the preparation of the Basis of Estimate.

+ Participates in estimate reviews.

+ Establishes and maintains cost databases and product line specific parametric analysis tools.

+ Advanced level incumbents demonstrate soft skill attributes such as leadership, conflict resolution, team building and mentoring.

**Minimum Requirements**

Minimum Requirements for a Staff Estimator V:

Education:

+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and related experience.

Experience:

+ Candidates to this position require 6 years of experience in the Engineering or Construction Industry including field/project experience outside the estimating function.

+ Must have some expertise in the company sanctioned estimating applications and systems.

Minimum Requirements for a Consulting Estimator:

Education:

+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and related experience. Master’s degree in business, engineering, or construction management desirable.

Experience:

+ Candidates to this position require extensive experience in the Engineering or Construction Industry with 8 years in Estimating.

+ Typically possess 5+ years of experience on a project performing work outside the Estimating function.

+ Has a strong understanding of planning and scheduling and cost structure such as overheads, G&A, insurances.

+ Demonstrated superior technical ability in the areas of specialty and possession of expert knowledge in those areas.

**Preferred Qualifications**

Preferred Qualifications for a Staff Estimator V:

+ Previous experience as an estimator for an EPC company and/or an owner of Oil & Gas facility.

+ Previous experience preparing estimates during Pre-FEED, FEED and Detail Design. Including knowledge of required engineering deliverables and estimating methodologies at each stage of design.

+ Experience with mechanical and piping systems for Oil & Gas industrial projects is desired.

+ Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

+ Proficient knowledge of using Estimating specific software’s (WinEstimator and Aspen Capital Cost Estimator experience is preferred).

Preferred Qualifications for a Consulting Engineer:

+ Master’s degree in business, engineering, or construction management desirable.

+ Previous experience as an estimator for an EPC company and/or an owner of Oil & Gas facility.

+ Previous experience preparing estimates during Pre-FEED, FEED and Detail Design. Including knowledge of required engineering deliverables and estimating methodologies at each stage of design.
