**Job Summary**

AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer to be based in our Cleveland, OH location.

Position Description or Typical Responsibilities:

+ Under general supervision, may complete engineering assignments of moderate complexity within a specific discipline.

+ Intermediate level of understanding within a specific discipline.

+ Understands and assists with the preparation of project scope within a specific discipline.

+ Familiar with business development concepts and methods and provides support to proposals.

+ Familiar with codes, permits and company cornerstone applications.

+ Understands the work sequence, general content, and the methods used to generate specifications for the purchase of material, equipment, systems, services, or construction within a specific discipline.

+ Fully versed with the process of preparing and checking of calculations within a specific discipline.

+ Able to learn and use basic CAD sketching tools.

+ Can read and understand construction drawings.

+ Collects data and information regarding technical and economic factors relating to a specific subject within a discipline.

+ Fully understands the use of requisitions and the role of materials management.

+ Fully understands and reviews vendor documents for a specific discipline.

+ Collects data on manpower, man-hour, and labor cost requirements to aid in evaluating the budget.

+ Able to take the lead on estimating tasks and perform material take-offs for a specific discipline.

+ Knowledge of discipline’s material costs and concept of cost analysis and forecasting.

+ Exposure to basic planning and scheduling of engineering tasks within a specific discipline.

+ Knowledge of the project change control process and can identify a potential change.

+ Knowledge of discipline’s equipment and material lists.

+ Can assist in the integration of all project functional requirements into a complete project plan.

+ Works to maintain positive working relationships with peer leaders.

+ Builds productive relationships with organizations in and external to Engineering.

**Minimum Requirements**

Education:

+ Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university

Experience:

+ 2 years of experience in structural engineering and design

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, Outlook

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Master's of Science Degree in Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university

+ FE (EIT) Certification

+ Experience with AutoDesk REVIT Structural and AutoCAD Software

+ Experience with MathCad

+ Experience with STAADPRO

+ Experience in the industrial/manufacturing, power, petrochemical or chemical industry
