**Job Summary**

This is a great opportunity for a Transportation Planner/Engineer who is seeking a role that can provide the opportunity to expand their experience and responsibility combined with exposure to a wide variety of transportation engineering/planning projects across the greater Toronto and Hamilton area in Canada as well as around the globe.

As part of our transportation team, the appropriately qualified applicant will provide clients with traffic engineering and transportation planning services.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Transportation master plan studies; environmental assessments for transportation facilities; transit planning-ridership forecasts; traffic impact studies; transportation study peer reviews

+ Prepare documentation related to current or prospective projects, including correspondence, reports, proposals, expressions of interest, specifications and meeting minutes

+ Communicate and work with other project team members to provide quality service to clients to ensure that all documentation conforms to client/company standards

+ Liaise with and assist other departments and offices in the provision of transportation planning services to clients

+ Support on economic studies including cost-benefit analyses, financial and economic impact analyses, strategic plans, policy and regulatory analysis, feasibility studies, market studies and business cases in general

+ Provide input and support on economic and financial modelling

+ Undertake research, surveys and interviews as part of project or client development work

+ Drafting reports, presentations and other client deliverables

+ Drafting proposals, including developing the methodology/approach for undertaking projects, as well as associated work Plans, schedules and budgets

+ Other business development responsibilities and duties as assigned

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or greater with an strong emphasis on transportation planning and economics

+ 5+ years of experience

+ Strong technical and analytical skills, (Synchro/ SimTraffic v7 or greater and EMME v2 or greater and/or VISSIM v5 or greater)

+ Strong technical writing skills

+ Strong verbal communicator, including presentation, facilitation and listening skills

+ Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

+ Experience in a professional consulting environment

+ Experience in transportation and infrastructure economics, including traffic and revenue forecasting

+ Experience undertaking micro-econometric studies with large data sets

+ Familiarity with public finance issues related to municipalities and provinces in Canada

+ Familiarity with urban planning and related policy issues

+ 4 Stage modeling methods and travel demand, (EMME v2 or greater, TransCAD, Cube, etc.) and Traffic operational software packages such as PARAMICS, VISSIM, AIMSUN, SINDRA, ARCADY

+ Other software that are tools could include Arc view GIS, Graphics design packages etc.

+ Experience in a professional consulting environment

+ Experience in transportation and infrastructure economics, including traffic and revenue forecasting

+ Experience undertaking micro-econometric studies with large data sets

+ Familiarity with public finance issues related to municipalities and provinces in Canada

+ Familiarity with urban planning and related policy issues

+ Transit planning, operations and priority assessments

+ Cycle / pedestrian facilities planning/assessments

+ TDM / ITS

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ 10+ years of experience

+ Master’s in Civil Engineering or greater with an strong emphasis on transportation planning and engineering with economics
