**Job Summary**

Our multidisciplinary Chesterfield office is located within easy commuting distance of the vibrant cities of Sheffield, Nottingham and Derby and on the fringe of the Peak District National Park. Our Water Team is involved in high profile infrastructure projects in the UK and overseas and locally significant projects for the Environment Agency and Local Authorities.

As a result of our continued success and growth, we are seeking a hydraulic modeller to join our established Water team in Chesterfield. As a Consultant, you will provide support and lead on a range of modelling projects including flood defence schemes, Flood Risk Assessments and flood modelling studies working with both private and public sector clients and utilising a range of different modelling approaches and practices.

**Job Duties:**

+ Contribute to flood risk and infrastructure modelling and hydrology projects for private and public sector clients, leading tasks and supporting the Technical Lead;

+ Contribute to a range of projects using your modelling experience, including engineering designs and solutions;

+ Follow hydraulic modelling and hydrology guidance / best practice and adhere to quality assurance and technical review procedures;

+ Support the technical development of more junior team members;

+ Contribute towards flood risk management / modelling business development activities;

+ Undertake Deputy Project Manager duties for flood risk management / modelling projects, using internal systems and liaising with clients.

**Minimum Requirements**

To be successful in this role we would like to hear from candidates with the following;

+ Hydrology and / or hydraulic modelling experience gained from working on a variety of projects;

+ Working as a team and individually to manage the delivery of projects or tasks to budget and programme;

+ Direct liaison with clients;

+ Experience of working on a range of flood risk management or Water Industry projects;

**Specific Skills Required :**

+ Working knowledge of hydraulic modelling software, such as InfoWorks ICM, FloodModeller Pro and / or Tuflow

+ Working knowledge of hydrological software, including FEH and ReFH

+ Understanding of Environment Agency and / or Water Company modelling procedures

+ Project / Task Management

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Bachelor Degree in relevant Engineering or Environmental field.

+ Chartered, or nearing Chartership, with a relevant institution e.g. CIWEM or ICE

+ Experience of working for an Environment Agency WEM Consultant or Water Company Framework Consultant in a related role
