Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Aircraft Mechanic II, UH-60 to support the Regional Aviation Sustainment Management-Central (RASM-C) located at Fort Campbell, KY.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assists crew lead in maintaining schedule IAW the work breakdown structure and aids in executing recovery plans as necessary.

  • Responsible for team compliance to ground operating procedures and crew lead daily instructions.

  • In the absence of the crew lead, assumes lead responsibility and performs all duties associated to ensure production timelines are met.

  • Remove and install aircraft subsystem assemblies and components such as engines, rotors, transmissions, mechanical flight controls, and associated components.

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair aircraft systems and subsystems including engines, rotors, drive systems, and flight control systems.

  • Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as aircraft Technical Manuals, Maintenance Information and Action Messages, and all technical guidance provided through government official representatives.

  • Perform maintenance tasks such as depopulating, cleaning, inspecting, repairing, and reassembling aircraft components and subsystems.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet project delivery schedule.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

  • Experience with the Reset program requirements preferred.

  • Ability to ensure team requirements are met while also responsible for a portion of the overall project.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Work is performed in a shop environment that is moderately lighted, heated and ventilated, is exposed to disagreeable fumes and to cuts and bruises from using tools in close placed and hazards of moving vehicles such as forklifts and sweepers in shop area. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste or smell. Frequently lifts items weighing in excess of 50 pounds. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud or unsafe conditions, questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and providing feedback to supervisors and managers on all safety issues.

Other Responsibilities:

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required.

  • Five (5) or more years experience in Army aviation maintenance.

  • Recent and relevant experience on UH-60 series aircraft.

  • Prior leadership experience a plus.
