Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking an experienced, creative, highly talented Assistant Project Manager for immediate employment in the Atlanta, GA office.

The Assistant Project Manager for the K-12 CIP Program will be responsible for the overall management and coordination of all projects, studies, initiatives and deliverables assigned to the AECOM Program Management Team.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Reports to the Sr. Project Managers / Field Managers / Controls Manager

  • Direct management of project closeout Phase

  • Direct interaction with project managers/ project delivery

  • Direct interaction with project controls manager/ reporting

  • Directly assist the Project Manager in managing, coordinating and administering the project through all phases of construction

  • Assist the project team and ensure project completion within budget, schedule and in conformance with specifications

  • Resolve field initiated questions

  • Coordinate activities among the field groups

  • Provide the necessary level of contract management and administrative oversight to achieve the quantitative and qualitative requirements of this contract

  • Ensure contract requirements are executed at a level equal to or higher than stated standards and shall strive for complete customer satisfaction with all customers

  • Establish and maintain effective customer relationships with the goal of maintaining a mutually beneficial business relationship with the District

  • Accountable for the management, administration, technical correctness, timeliness, and quality of services and products provided under this CIP Program

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Management, Engineering, or other related field

  • 3+ years of experience managing all aspects of building operations on contracts of similar size and scope

  • Highly motivated self-starter

  • Prior K12 Experience or Commercial Construction experience

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

  • Due to the nature of this work, qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience managing all aspects of building operations on contracts of similar size and scope

  • Progressive Experience in construction design and development, preferably K-12, of which shall include five (5) years of experience of direct management of project managers/ project delivery/ project delivery/ project controls and reporting

  • CCM Certification (Desired)

  • Industry recognized certification in Program Management or Facility Management

  • Possess highly developed interpersonal, analytical and communication (written and verbal) skills

  • Ability to multi-task and identify priority activities

  • Ability to drive team deliverables in a professionally assertive manner

  • Demonstrate the ability to manage in a diverse and dynamic environment with short-notice tasking under high pressure situations
