Job Summary

AECOM are recruiting a Compensation Analyst on an initial fixed term contract basis to join their established, friendly team in St Albans.

Within the role you will be responsible for developing and supporting the core compensation programs with a focus on the UK and Ireland. This includes: annual salary and bonus award processes, external benchmarking, salary review budgeting, the development of salary ranges and analysis of gender pay differences.

This role is a key part of the Total Rewards team, reporting to the UK Compensation Manager, and will participate in the design, implementation and administration of new compensation initiatives including base and variable pay programs.

As part of the Total rewards Centre of Expertise, the role will assist in providing internal consultancy for HR and line managers, making recommendations and providing solutions to business issues.

Further Responsibilities Include:

  • Support the mid year and annual compensation planning processes and provide guidance and analysis to HR and managers throughout the planning cycle.

  • Develop strong partnerships with the wider Reward team, HR business partners, business leadership, and Talent Acquisition teams

  • Assist in developing communication materials and educating the wider HR team and line managers on reward.

  • Maintain an awareness of total rewards trends, and make recommendations to company programs and practices based on business applicability.

  • Ensure all compensation programs and practices remain in compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and planning to continuously improve local compensation programs and processes.

  • Provide advice on job levels and salary benchmarking for hiring managers.

Minimum Requirements

To be successful in this role we would like to hear from candidates who are immediately available and have the following;

  • Degree level educated (BA/BSc degree or equivalent)

  • Successful track record of delivering annual compensation processes including benchmarking and salary range development.

  • Strong knowledge of market survey vendors job classification and evaluation methodologies, such as Mercers.

  • Prior multi-country experience in a large multi-national firm preferred

  • Advanced Excel and Intermediate PowerPoint required. Experience of using and introducing HRIS systems an advantage.

  • Ability to create automated tools/models to enhance analysis in support of compensation programs

  • Strong analytical, organization and interpersonal skills; the ability to interpret data and report on it in a clear concise way

  • Demonstrate strong initiative and exercise good judgment and resourcefulness

  • Technical expertise and ability to apply logic, problem solve and deliver results on complex data analysis

Along with the above you will have;

  • Ability to build effective relationships and establish credibility with HR team and key business leaders

  • Good communication skills as well as the ability to influence and collaborate with others

  • Excellent time management skills. Must be able to handle multiple projects with overlapping time frames and cope with shifting priorities

  • Must have strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills as well as good presentation skills

  • Ability to deal with a demanding fast paced work environment

  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must maintain high level of confidentiality.
