Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a highly talented and energetic Deputy Program Manager - Education for immediate employment in Dallas, TX who has significant experience with managing design and construction in a leadership role on K-12 and/or higher education facilities.

This leadership position requires the technical skills to effectively manage single or multiple projects, and teams executing work for clients.

Responsible for directly understanding, monitoring, managing, and executing all projects, goals, and project performance (both shot and long term) requirements in designated accounts/projects.

  • Communicate effectively in written/oral form project progress, budget status, issues and resolutions to all parties engaged in the work.

  • Manage communications and reports with all key stakeholders

  • Ensure project completion within budget, schedule, and conformance with client standards, design program, and construction documents. Constant communication with client and key stakeholders expected.

  • Create and manage project operating and capital expenses budgets.

  • Lead all project communication with clients to ensure that client expectations are consistently met and are satisfied, thus building client confidence and a long-term relationship for future efforts

  • Coordinate with the client in the development of required solicitations and directly assist with the evaluation of proposals and recommendations for actions.

  • Analyze and recommend value based design and delivery strategies for different components of the project that offer cost, schedule, quality and coordination savings and benefits

  • Proactively manage and resolve project conflicts resulting from scheduling and budgeting/cost compliance conflicts, unforeseen conditions, owner requested changes, and user group requests

  • Act as teams lead coordinator both on office and field/job site settings. Ability to work on both environments is a must.

  • Provide leadership and coordination on their projects for project engineers, estimators, schedulers, project controls, and other AECOM team members.

  • Manage the implementation and coordination of the program management information system for program execution

  • Monitor the permitting process for client and anticipate issues/challenges for timely project start-up

  • Project/program profit and loss responsibility experience

  • Participate in project negotiations.

  • Experience managing teams for successful project/program execution

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in construction management, architecture, business, or engineering

  • 12+ years of experience leading teams in project and program management

  • Experience as Project Management Lead for K-12 and Higher Education

  • Must have experience in project management, construction management, project controls (cost and schedule)

  • Candidate must have knowledge of web based collaboration PMIS or similar platform

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook)

  • Have and maintain a valid Texas drivers license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) considered a plus

  • Experience leading teams in project execution
