AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Civil Engineer for employment in the Des Moines, Iowa office. This program is designed to support your assimilation into the organization and assist with creating a foundation of knowledge for a successful career at AECOM. Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer, this candidate will be:

  • Assisting in maintaining project documentation

  • Producing high quality plans that are accurate and effective in communicating the design concept to the constructor

  • Transportation and Airfield design including but not limited to:

  • Geometric Layout

  • Cross-sections

  • Drainage

  • Erosion Control

  • Plan preparation

  • Cost estimating

  • Report writingdidate should be familiar with sewer collection

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Civil or Transportation engineering

  • Interest in Transportation and Airfield design projects

  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Be organized and detail-oriented

  • Willingness to travel (if and when required)

  • Must possess a valid driver license

  • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT)

  • Master's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering

  • Basic knowledge of some industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, OpenRoads, GIS)

  • Previous intern/coop/work experience in highway or airfield design
