 HOK is looking for talented individuals to join the CENTRUS team as we begin work on the historic Centre Block Rehabilitation.
  • Develops and manages Landscape Architecture and related projects.
  • Develops, modifies and reviews drawings for Landscape Architecture projects.
  • Demonstrates creative thinking abilities within the parameters of project guidelines and contributes to Firm-wide design excellence and problem solving.
  • Demonstrates from experience an understanding of constructability.
  • Incorporates Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
  • Participates in managing client relationship.
  • Assures HOK document standards are met and archives documents appropriately.
  • Assists in preparation of presentations and project related presentations.
  • May be called upon to conduct team meetings with client and consultant representation.
  • Understands intra-company agreements, contracts and deliverables and assures HOK standards for project management are met.
  • Engages with: Leadership, Consultants, Inter-Company teams, Client Groups, Stakeholders, Suppliers and other project related personal.
  • Mentors and directs the work of junior staff.
  • Actively promotes collaborative and innovative project delivery.
  • Proactively engages staff and provides opportunities for their professional development.


  • Travel may be required.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Position is in Ottawa and will be expected to interface with other HOK offices in Canada and abroad.

Required Skills
  • Ability to communicate both verbally, graphically and in writing.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (Proficiency in BIM and Revit preferred).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch up and InDesign (graphic report software) preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of native and domesticated plant species.
  • Proficient comprehension of associated built infrastructure associated with area development.
  • Ability to work in team environment and effectively meet deadlines.
Required Experience
  • Bachelors degree and/or Masters degree in Landscape Architecture.
  • 4-8 years well-rounded experience.
  • Registration with current license required.
  • LEED AP Accreditation is preferred.
  • Experience in historical contexts with contemporary interventions or interpretation is an asset.
