**Job Summary**

Currently AECOM is looking for a LNG & Future Fuels Specialist to assist our client, local engineering teams and contractors to install, maintain and troubleshoot LNG equipment on sites safely, affordably and quickly.

The LNG & Future Fuels Specialist will work closely with our client and local teams, primarily in Europe (Germany, UK, and the Netherlands, and potentially Turkey and Poland), with some support to China.

The goal of this role is to secure permits to build LNG sites in a timely fashion, by giving credible, responsible technical insights to regulators and train our client’s contracting partners in how to train and accredite their sub-contractors to install and maintain the equipment properly, safely, in a timely fashion.

Key duties:

+ Increase the number of permits applied for

+ Achieve higher approval rates for new LNG installations

+ Reduce overall project timeline (including accreditation of sub-contractors)

+ Reduce overall costs by replacing reactive expert support requests with proactive technical procedures and support

+ This is expected to be achieved through:

+ Mapping of LNG specific legal requirements within countries where LNG is present / planned

+ Detailed project schedule for LNG project (as per LNG end-to-end assurance process)

+ Develop competency matrix for required subcontractors

+ Develop training / accreditation plan for required subcontractors

+ Develop top areas of concern & support for the permitting process (lessons learnt, typical questions, etc)

+ Transfer this knowledge and skillset to the contractors

Scope

+ LNG in retail stations only

+ Europe focus (Germany, UK, potentially Poland and Turkey, occasional Netherlands), with some support for China

+ EPCM and Facilities Management partners

+ Integrating technical solutions on the ground between LNG equipment suppliers

+ Support local teams with:

+ Understanding of local regulations

+ Permit process – having technical depth and gravitas to assure regulators that the LNG site will be safely handled, reducing requests for more information and delays

+ Project management, installation and commissioning start up of LNG Retail Stations.

+ Demonstration of legal compliance.

+ Operation and maintenance of LNG retail stations

+ Performance management of the LNG retail stations & application of continuous improvements

+ Change management for design improvements

+ Contractor management for maintenance and operations activities

+ Incident investigations of incidents at LNG retail stations

+ Legal compliance of LNG retail station

**Minimum Requirements**

Our ideal candidate will show strong evidence of:

+ **Technical expertise** . The candidate must have the ability to design, problem solve, and communicate to technical and non-technical audiences all technical aspects of LNG installation, safety and maintenance (e.g. during permit application clarification meetings). Higher technical degree process engineering/chemical engineering and knowledge level in process safety is expected. Experience in LNG or cryogenic liquids, and 5 years’ experience in the process industry in management/supervisor role are a plus.

+ **Demonstrated safety leadership** . Safety is critical, especially for LNG. It is our culture and our license to operate. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to understand safety considerations and create a culture of safety around him/her.

+ **Managing relationships** with regulators, and multiple internal Shell and external (partner) stakeholders, to achieve business objectives. Candidate must be able to work without direct authority, in a constructive, respectful way, especially where there are conflicting views or incomplete information.

+ **Achieving delivery** of project objectives, i.e. clearly communicating objectives and benefits, having a clear and sensible plan and targets, and monitoring progress against this plan. A self-starter in delivering the plan and achieving tangible business results.

**Preferred Qualifications**

Proficiency in German a plus, but not required.

Ability to work virtually, to deliver through other people in a virtual, geographically diverse environment.
