Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Mobile Equipment Mechanic 2 to join our team of multi-skilled technicians in Electrical Apparatus manufacturing facilities in Waukesha, WI.

  • Scheduled work days and hours may vary based on critical business demand. Must be willing to work overtime when required.

  • Because this position rotates among three facilities within a 20-mile radius, a valid drivers license is required.

The Mobile Equipment Mechanic 2 is responsible for assisting the team with maintenance and repair of each facilitys vehicles and material handling equipment (including electric forklifts, electric carts, floor scrubbing equipment, Gators , etc.).

Assists with the diagnosis and routine repairs on industrial grade equipment, including but not limited to f orklifts, man lifts, mobile cranes, golf carts, all-terrain vehicles and floor scrubbers.

  • Minor repairs include removal, repair, and replacement of wheels, motors, brushes, caster bearings, pumps, brake systems, drive units, batteries, chargers, propane fueling etc.

  • Preventive maintenance on equipment is also required.

This position requires use of industrial tools and equipment (such as cranes and hoists) and excellent working knowledge of hand and power tools.

Essential Functions:

  • Assists the team with diagnosis and major repairs on industrial equipment.

  • Assists the team with minor repairs by removing, repairing and replacing motors, pumps, drive units and brake systems.

  • Changes tires using hydraulic press.

  • Uses welding equipment.

  • Completes daily work logs with detailed information on a timely basis.

  • Communicates and advises MHE related concerns to fellow employees and management.

  • Maintains professional and courteous customer relations including, client, vendor, and internal team.

  • Actively participates in safety meetings. Maintains safety work practices as define by AECOM

  • Ensures that work orders and monthly PMs are completed as required.

  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

Minimum Requirements

  1. High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.

  2. Two years of maintaining and repairing cars, trucks, aerial lifts, mobile cranes, fork lifts, and/or other material handling equipment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.

  3. Valid Drivers License.

Additional Information:

  • This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our clients location.

  • This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.

  • Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.

  • Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.

  • Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.

  • Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.

  • Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.

  • Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.

  • Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.

  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

Special Requirements:

  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Associates degree or technical school diploma in automotive or mobile equipment repair, or a related skilled trades program.

  2. Experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on electric forklifts and hydraulics.

  3. Experience performing advanced diagnosis and repairs of industrial equipment including forklifts, man lifts, mobile cranes, all-terrain vehicles etc.

  4. Training and/or work experience with industrial tools and equipment, including cranes and hoists.

  5. Experience safely using welding equipment and diagnostic/calibration equipment.

  6. Basic knowledge of all hand tools, most power tools, and volt/amps/ohm test meters.

  7. Experience working in a team environment.

Other Attributes:

  • Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
