Job Summary

Savannah River Remediation, an LLC of AECOM, is seeking a

Principal Quality Control Engineer to be based in our Aiken, SC location.

The Principal Quality Control Engineer provides quality control support to operations and project teams for construction projects. Performs quality control inspection and surveillance activities in support of operations, project and/or maintenance activities.


  • Establishes priorities supporting Construction/Operations needs in consultation with manager.

  • Resolves complex problems which develop during the implementation of quality activities by coordinating with internal and external departments and appropriate management personnel.

  • Provides leadership to inspire efficient performance of assignments, safe work habits, timely exchange of information and everyones commitment to site policies.

  • Contributes to contract discussions relating to quality activities.

  • Prepares comprehensive status reports for construction quality activities.

  • Reviews and may approve subcontractors quality procedures and monitors their adherence to those procedures.

  • Coordinates the activities of assigned quality control engineers and with other construction departments to ensure that construction is in compliance with Site specifications and standards.

  • Prepares quality procedures to ensure proper inspection, testing and surveillance activities are being performed.

  • Provides effective quality training programs and ensures QC Engineering personnel are qualified to perform assigned tasks.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (engineering or science) and7+ relevant work experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Engineering in the fields of operations, maintenance, construction or industrial manufacturing. OR;

  • Bachelors degree in a non-technical discipline and 8+ years relevant work experience as described above OR;

  • Associate's degree and 9+ years of relevant experience described above OR;

  • High School diploma or GED and 11+ years of relevant experience described above.

  • Due to the nature of the work, the candidate must be a US Citizen

Note: A two-year technical diploma will be considered equivalent to an associate's degree.

  • Certification with continuing technical training is required for performance of inspections and surveillance activities. Specialized training may also be required to support certain technical areas
