Job Summary

Our multidisciplinary Chesterfield office is located within easy commuting distance of the vibrant cities of Sheffield, Nottingham and Derby and on the fringe of the Peak District National Park. With the continued growth of our Chesterfield Water Team we have established a new satellite Water team from our Nottingham office. Our Water Team is involved in high profile infrastructure projects in the UK and overseas and we are working on a number of locally significant projects for the Environment Agency and Local Authorities.

As a result of our continued success and growth, we are seeking two Senior Hydraulic Modellers to join our team. As a Senior Consultant, you will provide support and lead on a wide range of modelling projects including flood risk management schemes, flood modelling projects and Flood Risk Assessments working with both private and public sector clients and utilising a range of different modelling approaches and practices.

Job Duties:

  • You will work closely with our teams of engineers, hydraulic modellers and technical specialists to deliver flood risk management projects in the UK and overseas. You will act as the technical lead on flood risk modelling and hydrology projects, supervising and managing the delivery of tasks and projects.

  • You will support the development of junior members of the team and you will have responsibility for quality assurance and technical reviews.

Minimum Requirements

To be successful in this role we would like to hear from candidates with the following;

  • Hydrology and hydraulic modelling experience

  • Managing projects, delegating tasks and technical mentoring

  • Experience in preparing, delivering and winning tenders for new work

  • Liaison with clients and stakeholders

  • Experience of working on a range of flood risk management projects

Along with the above you will also have;

  • Working knowledge of hydraulic modelling software, such as InfoWorks ICM, FloodModeller Pro, Tuflow and / or MicroDrainage.

  • Working knowledge of hydrological software, including FEH and ReFH.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in relevant Engineering or Environmental field.

  • Chartered, or nearing Chartership, with a relevant institution e.g. CIWEM or ICE
